Bah, his personality sucks, but he would make a nice wing back.
He is a former Swedish national team player, that is on a dead div IV team.

I couldn't afford to pay him. I'd be bankrupt in two weeks.

I think he has been around a while. He was initially trained by team id 143 and then by team id 65.
Why is he listed as a wingback?

wouldn't he be better as a defensive middy?

That's what I thought as well, but I'm not used to seeing guys that good so I thought I might be missing something.

He would be much better as a defensive middie -- utopian is right below divine. He might be the second best outfielder in all of hattrick.
As for him being listed as a wing back - my guess is whichever GM released him was having a bit of fun.

The 20% would bankrupt me. :D

Will any of the Major Leaguers go after this guy. I'm not sure who has a high cash flow right now.

I don't think any major leaguer could afford the wages.
He went to a division 4 Swedish team for just under $5 million.

My question: Why does that guy have only 3 caps? Surely he's good enough to play, even for Sweden.
Did he bankrupt the US team he was on, or did they just quit for unrelated reasons?

He probably only has 3 caps because of experience. He must have not gotten on the U-20 team and thus missed the experience needed to be a solid National Team Player.

I believe the story is that the U.S. team was quiting so they spent all there money to kill a Swedish national player. The Swedish coach probably figured they did not him to win, and wanted to give the rewards to an owner that wasn't being underhanded. Also, since the guy was never playing (Bayern has not fielded a team since buying Jesper) he was probably in crap form.

Back when he was under 20, there were no U20 teams. I actually think the reason he hasn't played much is due to his age,

Dola
No that wasn't this team. Jesper wasn't even on the U20 team until recently. I don't know why he was just added now. However, I think Bayern's owner just lost interest or was driven bankrupt from the wages. He even logged in several times while giving walkovers.
I think you have him confused with the team that tried to buy Sweden's keeper and fire him. This was caused the devs to make it so that you can't fire national players.
