Ok, so last night I was drinking too much, watching football on television, and poking around all the cool little things Hattrick added yesterday (my purple and white striped jerseys are pretty sharp!). Well all of a sudden I remembered the 'buy a coach' function added at the beginning of the season, and started messing with that. Turns out what I'd want would cost $2.5 million or so. Sheesh! I've already got a solid/solid coach.

On a whim I clicked on my coach's link.......and saw that his leadership skills had dropped to passable!

My team has already gone in the crapper enough as it is this season, I can't have the coach following suit...........so I went back and picked out the coach I wanted, took a few more gulps of beer, said a little prayer, and clicked 'ok'. $2.5 million gone. A few minutes later I was introduced to my new coach:

Sven-Erik Lange (4608549)
51 years, passable form, healthy
A solid coach who is fond of attacking
A sympathetic guy who is calm and righteous.
Has outstanding experience and solid leadership abilities.

Nationality: Danmark
Assessed value: 0 US$
Wage: 600 US$/week including 20% Bonus
Owner: Panther City FC
Warnings: 0

I'm impressed. If I would've pulled him the old fashioned way, he'd definately be a keeper. Maybe I should make important hattrick decisions when I'm drunk more often.......

I'm out of money now, though.

It wasn't good stuff, just a lot of stuff.

:)

My old coach was offensive as well, but he was controversial and dishonest......I never liked that. I guess I just wanted to shake things up.

This is the coach I pulled early last season... is he no good because of the inadequate leadership?

A pleasant guy who is balanced and upright.
Has brilliant experience and inadequate leadership abilities.

Maybe if you were a Major Leaguer, but for most of us poor slobs, he is more than good. I am still stuck with a passable coach, and will be for maybe a few seasons...

dola, just to say that if I had 2.5 millions in the bank, I most certainly would not spend it on a coach right now. I'd have plenty of solid-excellent skilled players I could buy for 2.5 millions...

Unfortunately, 2.5 mil can't buy a difference-maker in the Major League. I spent 6 mil on a keeper not too long ago (and have several multi-million purchases in the past), and I still haven't won a match this season.

I don't know how clubs like KC Wizards and Slashers are able to build such powerful clubs and stay ahead of everyone else.

That's exactly what I was saying and how I understood why you changed coach instead of buying some players. For us div IV and V'ers, 2.5 millions is a lot of money and many, many difference makers in our roster. My dola was to add on to the comment from Frank, where he was asking if is coach was worthless if he was only inadequate in leadership...

Ah... Ok... I didn't realize that, by comparison, Lone Star is playing on an entirely different level. :D

Lone Star, man, $2.5m for half a level of leadership is a ripoff. You would have been better off saving it or buying an Uber-Trainee™ next season. Not to be too harsh, but this will hurt far more than it helps.

I gotta agree here. I'm not sure one level of leadership is worth that kind of cash. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's not. He was only solid/passable not solid/wretched or anything like that.
