I've played 49 games in division VII.842 and I'm starting to "get" a few things about Hattrick now. Yesterday I read some articles on the "hattricks" site and found out that you should know who your team leader is.

Well, I didn't, and began an investigation. He turned out to be a controversial Englishman:
Paul Black (3061670)
24 years, inadequate form, healthy
A controversial person who is tranquil and dishonest.
Has disastrous experience and solid leadership abilities.

Nationality: England
Assessed value: 200 000 kr
Wage: 7 680 kr/week including 20% Bonus
Owner: IFK Bananskruv
Warnings: 0

Stamina: solid Goaltending: wretched
Playmaking: wretched Passing: wretched
Winger: inadequate Defending: weak
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: wretched

He should be lucky I didn't fire his ass on the spot, but if I can't get any bids (he's listed as an attacker for 0$) he's gone anyway. You live and learn I guess.

How's your team leader after that guy is gone?

He's pleasant with inadequate leadership, he'll do until I can find a clown on the cheap. One thing that's funny though, I still have my former coach on the roster, and he's pleasant with passable leadership - don't know how that happened.

Just so you know, you also have a nasty fellow with inadequate leadership on your team (yeah, I looked at your roster :) ), so any one of the pleasant guy or the nasty fellow can be your team leader, depending on which of the two has the highest inadequate leadership... This can't be seen other than by looking closely at the team spirit swings, but with only inadequate leadership, their impact (good or bad) might not be very important...

Good for you that you learned about this. I always like seeing people learn stuff :)

Also, about former coaches, when you change coach under teh new system, your old coach doesn't disappear anymore, he simply stay on your roster, until you fire I guess...

What, another nasty guy? Oh, he's got to go as well then. Glad you saw that, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

Having nasty guys isn't a problem, as long as they don't have the highest level of leadership on your team. I have 4 nasty fellows on my team, but I made sure that none of them has a leadership level higher than passable, as my team leader is a pleasant guy with solid leadership. I know he's not a clown in any way (more of a neutral kind of agreeability) but he at least keeps my TS from freefalling due to the 2 passables with bad agreeability (one controversial the other nasty)...

Glad to be of help.

Just go wait until all the youth pulls go up for sale Tuesday and then look for a solid/sympathetic guy who sucks. It should cost you under $5K.
