3Q: 10:39 NOS - Michael Watson 97 kickoff return.
3Q: 10:39 NOS - Van Stephens extra point.
3Q: 10:33 ATL - Heath Perez 99 kickoff return.
3Q: 10:33 ATL - Walter Gerhardt extra point.
3Q: 10:24 NOS - Al Scott 94 kickoff return.
3Q: 10:24 NOS - Van Stephens extra point.

Back to back to back kickoff returns for touchdowns. I've never seen a more prolific game for the kickoff return guys.

30 Scott 3 143 47.6 1

Was Scott back there to return the 2nd kick because Watson was still too winded from his return?

Nah, I think we just kicked away from Watson the second time...didn't work.

The only time that's ever happened to me was in Tecmo Super Bowl, very cool stuff.

I wonder if it's ever happened in the NFL? I've seen a few back-to-backs (including the Ravens-Giants Super Bowl), but 3 in a row is so incredibly unlikely.

I think those guys missed their calling. They should be in the olympics for 100 metre dash. It took Perez 6 seconds to cover 99 yards and Scott 9 seconds to cover 94 yards.

Didn't this actually happen in an NFL game once? I remember it was at least two kickoff returns.. Anyone else remember this?

Well I just experimented, to my displaisure, the same kind of thing last night playing FOF.
My 49er team was playing the New Orleans Saints (we're in the same old NFC West since I'm talking FOF2) and I'm a 10 pt favourite.
Then, their rookie FA Running Back comes out of nowhere to bring back a kickoff for 87 yards and a TD...I hate being outscored like this on special teams play but I figure: "all right, great play for them"....then, a quarter later in the game, that same rookie FA RB (with terrible ratings EVERYWHERE -shouldn't even have made their team-) returns a 2nd kickoff for TD in the game !!

I end up losing by 14...ok...

That's not all !
A few weeks late, rematch in San Francisco...guess what : I end up losing the game by 7 and that same bastard returned me yet ANOTHER kickoff for TD !!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the season, I went on to check his returns stats and he had "only" 3 kickoff return for TDs..all against me in two games..

HUGE.

Nope. Watson scored at 10:39 and the clock was stopped. The clock didn't start again until Perez caught the kickoff and stopped when he crossed the goal line at 10:33. Therefore it took Perez six seconds to run 99 yards.

Then, the clock started again when Scott caught the kickoff and stopped when he crossed the goal line at 10:24. It therefore took him nine seconds to run 94 yards...

Geez MIJB, you're making all sorts of mistakes tonight... ;)

I thought the time listed was the time at the start of the play, but that doesn't make sense for the PAT attempts...

Actually it's almost lunch time here, though you need to know that I hardly slept all night... Very usefull when you have a deadline approx 5 hours from now...
