I know we have some website developers and programmers on the site. I was wondering if you could help me out with some things. I am looking a business idea, and am researching it. I am looking at building a website that will feature online credit card processing, feedback system, and creating a client-consumer database. It will have to be a pretty professional website.Anyone have a figure on the cost I could expect? Who do I contact, where do I find developers? Do I hire a studio, or an personal developer. What are yearly maintance costs? Thanks.

Well Shorty seems to be pretty good at the graphic design part, and he could probably use a job. Plus, I hear he's willing to work for John Kitna trading cards.

well, speaking as a web developer, you'd have to get more specific about what you really want this tuff to do. Credit card processing isn't a big deal, that can be hooked up through any number of systems. A feedback form is extremely simple.
Where you get complicated is this database. Areyou looking for a live dynamic databse driven site, or perhaps just having a contact form that people can fill out and submit which dumps their info into a DB for you to pull down and use offline?
I am available for contract work, and I tend to work fairly cheap. I can give you a much more detailed outline of costs involved if you email me the details (and by details I mean be VERY specific) tell me what you really want this website to do for you and where you want to see it grow. Then I can really flesh out what a contract job would cost you.
Contract jobs will be cheaper than going to a full blown deisng firm, they have to charge a bunch more for overhead and the costs generally run 200 to 300 percent more than what a decent contractor will charge you.

Dola:
If I find that what you need is beyond my abilities I do know someone who is extremely good using cold fusion who does full blown DB work.

Thanks RendeR. I will give you an e-mail sometime this weekend, prolly Sunday. I just drafting the idea right now, and have to put together a business plan right now, do my ressearch, and seek out find financing right now. So it's still early, but I hope to get some info to you this weekend.
