No, this is not a thread about Zook.
As some of you will remember, I had an interview in FL where they flew me down for a good opportunity. My good friend Dave, who is the GM of another branch, originally got the ball rolling for me. It looked like a done deal.
Well, weeks turned into months with no decision, so I called up the owner and politely turned it down.
Now I know why...they just closed Dave's branch. Guess who's the new GM of that FL branch? You guessed it - Dave! That's the reason why the job never got filled. They knew this was a possibility.
Well, one door closes and other opens. Heard from a recruiter last week who was calling me for a referece for someone else. We started talking and they asked me to send over my resume - another company in FL needs a GM. Turns out that the owners and I worked together (but I only met them once or twice) at a previous company. So they did some checking around, got some positive references from our mutual friends in that old company and spoke to me on the phone last week.
Guess what? I'm flying down to FL on the 23rd for an interview.
Plus, the old "mutual" company is talking to me about coming back aboard.
Plus, another former boss is being hired by yet another company and he wants to talk to me late next week. If he gets the job, he wants me on board to run one of his offices.
Interesting times...
