What is your expected league finish? Who has an outside shot at promotion/playoff or demotion/playoff?

I'm 2 points behind the leader with 1 game left. I am assured of at least second. I need for him to lose against the last place team in the league at home. I need to win against the #3 team on the road. I might at well MOTS, since I have practically no shot at the league title... just let my boys have a little fun.

I win next week, I'm in 4th. I lose, I face the fun prospect of a qualification game. Hmm... either way, it can't be too bad.

Win next week and i win the divison, then i get a tough qualification game probally verus a 5th place divison IV team.

Should be interesting :)

I'm playing the 4th place team next week. I'm currently 2 points ahead of him, so a win or draw will get me 3rd. A loss will drop me to 4th.

3 points out of 1st, playing at the series leader's place. A win gets my team the title and a qualifier. A loss or draw likely gets me 3rd place.

I'm debating whether I should try to get him to double PIC with me. My only fear is if he lies and plays normal or MOTS giving me no shot to win. If we both PIC, it would give the winning team a legit shot in the qualifier.

I'm currently in 8th place with 10 points in my ridiculously difficult series (IV.14 - 9th strongest according to Hatstats), but the 7th place team has just 11 pts, and the 6th place team has 13. I play the 6th place team at home next week, and the 7th place team seems likely to lose their next match. So, if I manage to win and the 7th place team loses as I expect, I'll squeak into 6th place on goal differential. At which point I'll be staring at a qualification match while enduring furious TS.

It looks like I'm headed to Div V regardless of where I finish.

I'll finish 2nd in V.22 unless something really fluky happens. Both my team and the series leader should easily win to retain their positions.

Impretty much in 3rd, unless the 2nd place team suddenly stops scoring 7-8 goals a game and i start scoring a lot more then 2-3...but at least i beat the champs...i know i deserve to be up top...

I won it last year if that counts for anything...

I'm currently in 8th place with 5 points in my ridiculously difficult series (IV.57 - 4th strongest.) Play the 7th place team (7pts) and will MOTS at home. Should win, but no hope at 6th means I'll be going down to DV. I feel bad for whoever replaces me.

2nd or 3rd. I'm currently tied for second, but the team I'm tied with has to play the 1st place team, who is undefeated at this point, and I play the 7th place team.

I'm a lock for 2nd, which actually means promotion, since all 1st and 2nd-place teams in Sweden's div VII get it.

I play the 6th place team which is basically a bot. I will be MOTSing this one. Here is the situation:

I am currently in third in v.53
The first place team plays the second place team at home.
They have a 2 point lead because I beat the first place team. (Their only loss).
I trail the second place team by 3 points but have a big lead in GD.

If I win (a formality) and the War Donkeys lose (2nd place), I will end up in second. Otherwise, I finish third.

Also, I have two guys with a shot at the goal scoring title. So, hopefully they will both light it up!

I'm locked in 5th, 5 points behind 4th and 4 points ahead of 6th. I play a team that get ratings of about 35 in my last league game, giving me a PIC before the qualifier...

If I hadn't of tied yesterday, 2 late goals by other team, I would've been a lock for 3rd place. I have a PICable game next week against the last place team in my series. I can still finish 3rd, I'm in 4th by the way, if team ahead of me ties or loses which is a possibility considering the history of his games with team he plays. The team I'm trying to finish ahead of has won my series last 2 or 3 seasons, if I remember correctly.

I can take first place with a win against a team that's pretty evenly-matched with me. We'll both probably MOTS, as niether of us are ready to move up to III (in canada) next year, and are just playing for pride, prize money, and that cute little trophy. Lose, and I probably drop to third.

All in all, I'm happy with going 9-0-1 since losing the first three games of the season.

since I don't believe in luck, I'll PIC in my final game (against the 3rd) in order to be ready for the playoff match

I'm going to finish 5th, meaning I'll be playing a qualifier in a couple of weeks.

Of course, I've been PIC'ing the entire last half of the season when I determined that I couldn't make fourth place, so I hopefully should stay in Div IV with no problem.

I'm in 6th place in D.IV, 3 points behind 5th (lytic) and 1 point ahead of 7th.

I play lytic and 7th (kix) plays 8th (mikebrown and the aves). So this could end up really pretty.. or REALLY dirty.

Lets hope lytic remembersss that I helped him get ahead of kix and gives me a break and mikebrown still likes me and doesn't give kix an easy win :)

Locked the series title this past league match. Will most likely lose next week as I'll be PICing against a tough team in preparation for my qualifier.

Not looking forward to my qualfier and have a feeling I'll be back in V.1 next season as I played "normal" the 2 weeks before this weekends match and my TS took a nasty hit and it seems my teams form is about to start tanking once again. :( Hopefully two PICs will be enough to allow me to atleast be competitive in the qual. match.

after a furious late season run going win-draw-win, I'm now just 1 point out of 6th place in IV.10. I play 5th place NE Oklahoma Sidekicks who have already announce their intentions to prepare for their qualifier, leaving the door just open enough for me to complete a miracle run....and then get smacked in the qualifer probably :)

In first place by 3 points and I'm above the auto-promote line by a GD of 6 goals, so barring a complete and utter meltdown in the last game of the year, I'm looking to auto-promote to Div. IV next season where I'm sure a struggle to stay up will ensue. Not sure the team is quite there yet, but it looks like I've clenched it.

Clinched first place a week ago. Still undefeated. I should have an easy win next week, and finish with a perfect season. I hope I don't autopromote into any series that's too brutal...

My top keeper trainee is putting up 4.5 stars now... I'm going to have a hard time letting go of him at the end of the season, but that's the plan - sell him for a killing, and load up for Div.IV

Well, in my first full season of HT, I am currently in 2nd place based on gd. I am +30, 3rd place team is +27. I am playing the lsat place team in the series. He has only managed 1 point all season. As long as I can keep up the gd, I will take 2nd place.

Well, I thought I had first all wrapped up. But that was before week 12's game, where I went to the arena of a player I just can't stand. It's the guy that finished 2nd in the series last season, and he has been a bit of a jerk all season. After I beat him in the 3rd week he put up a press announcement saying how the loss was "controversial" and ridiculous. He didn't post another press annoucement until he beat me, claiming "vindication" yadda yadda. Anyway I'm still a point up on him, and kicking his arse in GD, so unless I lose or tie this week, I'm set. I don't expect to lose, but, we shall see. As of pre-week 12, I was destined to auto-promote, then after week 12 I was going to play a qual match to promote, and since Hatstats isn't updated yet, I have no idea what it's like after the win this week.

We shall see!!!

tk, you can see if you are above or below the auto-promote line by clicking the "Promotion" link on your series' standings page.

In V USA, the auto-promote line is currently at 36 pts, GD of 45, so you're below...

Damn.

That unfortunate loss in the big league match put me in a guaranteed 3rd place, instead of 1st place.

I can snake 2nd place if hell freezes over and Darkhorse loses a match they should EASILY win, but I doubt it'll happen.

Regardless, not too shabby for my first season in IV.

I am 3 points behind first but I had no practical shot at winning my series. First has a +28 gd and I have a +11.

However, I am only 1 point behind 2nd and have a head-to-head match against them in the last week. The problem is that my TS is furious. Oh well... maybe I should buy an outstanding playmaker with this $7+ mil that I have ;)

nah- you shoudl buy a 17 year old solid playmaking / defending, passable stamina / passing / scoring with that 7 million....I think I saw one on the US market with the bidding ending tomorrow night, maybe you should take a look :D

Seriously- please don't buy a outstanding playmaker....I have a shot to beat you next season...with an outstanding playmaker i would have very very little chance at that.

I have an interesting last week...

#3 @ #1
#2 @ #4

I'm #3, 4 points behind #1 and 3 points behind #2. I beat #1 handily in week one, but his team has improved. Regardless, he still only puts up an Inadequate midfield to my Passable. All 4 of our teams are ridiculously similar, and these matches could go either way. I think with a MOTs and having decent Team Spirit, I should be able to take the #1 team, even away. So I'm hoping that #4 can beat #2 at home, which is likely. Most likely, I'll end up in third, but I can't drop lower than Fourth.

This is my second season, I autopromoted my first season and expected to get killed in D.IV. By a stroke of luck I'm in first again and have a chance to autopromote. I'm fairly sure that I will get killed in D.III if I go there. I've even thought of throwing my last match to stay in D.IV but that wouldn't be any fun.

FM, if you look at some of the ratings in Hatstats, there are teams in V right now that are putting up ratings that would be in the top 20 of IV.

Brays Bayou FC is locked into either third or fourth place. We're trailing the third place team by one point with a home MOTS against #5 coming up this weekend. The #3 will get the #1, and I think on the road, so we stand a pretty good chance of improving by a spot from last season (and last season my finishing position was largely thanks to the prior owner of the team).

We've started our <strike>extortion</strike>negotiation with the city on major upgrades to our stadium.

Yeah, I know that, but my guess would be that many of these teams may have been playing for more than a season. I'm impressed by bob's possible promotion in his first two complete seasons...

Also, no matter how long you've been playing, to promote twice in a row, you need a few things to fall just right. Get in the right league, a little luck, and a good team...

I think it would be a lot of fun in a league like that. Last year I was in a league with only 1 other decent team and this year I have 7 very good teams and the 8th is no walkover. I hope I get put in a league where my week-to-week strategy makes the difference and I have to look for matchups instead of one where I'll win or lose regardless of what I do.
