performance from a defender?

Out of curiosity, in case anybody kinda has an idea, what kind of performance roughly would a solid defender get and what would an excellent get, star-wise (ignoring the bonus they get from experience, since that's kind of a crap shoot while looking)?

Solid 2.5-3.0
Excellent 3.0-3.5

For further info. I have a decrepid passable defender with weak experience getting 3.0* in passable+ form.

So I'd imagine a solid could net 3.5 with a few levels of experience.

True, CW. I have one that's doing the same thing (well, JC isn't "decrepit" per se, but he has weak experience and is putting up 3 as well). I'm just trying to figure out base performance without experience bonus since it's hard to count on that (experience) being available when browsing the wire so I just consider it a bonus when I can get it.

I've gotten 3.5* from a solid defender in solid form. He only has poor experience.

Edit: I think I was using him as a defensive wingback at the time, though (winger=weak). Neither of my solid defenders has reached 3.5* playing centrally, but I'm not sure I've ever played them there when they've been in solid form (one of them also has solid scoring, so I've used him at forward, and I usually use the other as the weak side wingback in a balanced 3-5-2).
