The 10th season of FOFC Winston Cup Racing will be getting underway tonight at Daytona. 42 drivers will enter into the season's first battle. Two-Time and Defending Champion Nick Phillips is back. As is 5 time Series Champion Chris Snow and Season 7 Champ Telle Snow. 6 rookies are also entered this season.

The first ever FOFC Winston Cup Series Bud Shootout will be run before the Daytona 500 this season. The Bud Shootout will feature pole winners from the past two seasons of FOFC Winston Cup Racing. There will be 16 drivers in the race.

If this race is any indication of how the 500 will be run then were in for a great race. All 16 drivers led at least one lap during the race. At the end it was Billy Bushinhimer moving up from 4th to 1st on the last lap and barely beating Bobby Mask for the victory in the first Bud Shootout.

Daytona, FL -
When it came to picking who would be the preseason pick to win the Season 10 Championship, it was a no-brainer for the FOFC Winston Cup writers. Nick Phillips. After his 2nd championship in 4 seasons Phillips has shown no sign of slowing down. Over the past four seasons he has clearly been the series top driver and that shouldn't stop this season. Telle Snow, the Season 7 Champion, finished a disapointing 9th in the standings last season and picked up one win. She should pick up her Season 7 and 8 form again this season and finish right up there with Phillips. After a few disapointing seasons Phillips Racing driver Kevin Anderson started driving a lot more like his owner last year and led the series' most laps with 974, 17% of the total laps run. If he can keep the DNF's down he should be very good. The last time Chris Snow finished outside of the top ten he came back and won the title the next season. No wins and only 3 top five's will not be acceptable for him this season. Travis Elkin came on strong at the end of last season and finished 7th in points. He should pick many more top ten's this season and be in the championship hunt. Since entering the series in Season 7, Mustafa Henderson has been better then every driver but his owner Nick Phillips. Last season he finished 6th in the points but had no wins. This year expect 2-3 victories for the 20 car. Ren Snow was top SMI driver last season finishing 3rd in the points. He could be in the hunt at the end if he stays out of trouble. Shane Kormelink had a huge season last year losing out on the championship but only 31 points. If he can finish nearly every race again like last season he will be a factor. Rewbie Newsday is always a solid driver on the circuit. He led the third most laps on the circuit last season. Paul Tracy shocked everyone with his 5th place points finish in his rookie season last year despite only leading 17 laps the entire season. The key to his success was only 1 DNF.

Drivers to Watch:
Johnny Benson, Travis Hoenig and Billy Bushinhimer who finished 21st, 22nd, and 26th in the points last season all should be much better then that this year. Benson always had solid qualifying runs but fell off a little in the race. Hoenig picked up 2 wins and ran very well but car problems ruined his points finish. Billy
Bushinhimer picked up 2 poles and 1 win and always was near the front. But 7 DNF's killed his finish in the points.
Rookie of the Year - It should come down to Blade Tokunaga and L. Jon Silvers for the Rookie of the Year title. Both are backed by big time owners and will benefit from that. Expect Tokunaga to take home the trophy.
The Daytona 500 will be run tomorrow.

Nick Phillips - You can pick Nick at any track and it would be a great pick. But at Daytona while everyone else can run anywhere from 1st to 40th easily, Nick always seems to be in the Top Ten.

Once again Daytona lived up to the hype. 159 lead changes among 34 drivers provided for a very exciting race. A 5 lap shootout was setup after a late caution and it was very exciting. Heading into the final Kevin Anderson had the lead, but he quickly was left out to dry and would finish 9th. Maximus Meridus, driving in his very first race, was 4th starting the final lap. He stayed to the inside line and saw his opening, he passed Jay Klayman who had taken the lead and then held off Telle Snow and Daniel Ertmann to take the win his very first race.

As evidenced - as long as there's no wrecks, both Rewbie racers are in the top ten in points. If they can continue to stay clear of wrecks, team Rewbie could easily finish #1 and #2 at season's end. How's that for team dominance?

Its great to be back on top and in the winners circle again. last season was a rouhg one for the Coor's Light Crew, I fired everyone at least 3 times, but they kept coming back and working for scooby snacks. So how could I complain?

Detroit, Michigan - At Derek Christian Racing Headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, there was plenty of disappointment for everyone. After two more disappointing finishes from both Andre and Bobby Mask, fingers are starting to be pointed in all directions.
Bobby Mask, 10 year veteran of FOFC Winston Cup Racing, and driver of the #14 Pepsi Twist car, puts the blame in one place. "The engine department really needs to step it up. I don't feel there giving us very good equipment each and every week. We're not anywhere on the same level as Phillips Racing and Snow Motorsports. If we want to have some success, things need to change."
Rumors are also circulating that this could be Bobby's last season as a driver. He highest points finish in his 10 year career has been 2nd. If Bobby were to step down as driver of the #14 car at the end of this season or even before, all bets are on Derek Christian Jr., son of car owner Derek Christian, to take over the driving duties. The 21-year old Christian Jr. is currently driving a DCR car in the Busch Series. Last season as a rookie in the ARCA season he finished 2nd and won Rookie of the Year honors. He is a strong candidate for the same award in the Busch Series this season.
The next race will be the Protection One 400 from Kansas. I will have pictures up from this race after it is completed.

Nick Phillips - So far this season Nick has 3 top 10 finishes in 4 races. The one race he didn't finish in the top 10, he finished 11th. He'll run well again.
The day three dominant drivers. It started with Ren Snow leading the race's first 61 laps. Then Travis Elkin took over and led 121 of the next 127 laps. After that it was Telle Snow who took over and led the race's final 79 laps to take the win. Mustafa Henderson was 2nd, Kevin Anderson 3rd, Mike Tokunaga 4th, and Nick Phillips was 5th. 3 Snow Motorsports cars, 3 Phillips Racing cars, and 2 Edmonton Oil Slick cars finished in the top 10.

We have Phillips with another dominating championship run who is currently first, Anderson is 11th, Mustafa is 20th, and Billy the 19yr old kid who is in his second year is currently in 27th but is looking to improve and be in the top 20 this year.

Phillips Racing dominated today's race. Kevin Anderson led 276 laps and Billy Bushinhimer led 182 laps as the two finished 1st and 2nd. This was the second straight season Anderson took the pole and won the race at Bristol.
Chris Snow and Ren Snow took the final two spots, 40th and 41st. Chris broke a piston while Ren blew an engine. Kai Collins finished 35th after his 4th DNF in 6 races. Telle Snow was the only Snow Motorsports car to finish, but he finished 5 laps down.

The cars seem to be getting more and more even each season. You have drivers that always ran very well before near the back now without even any stat changes and driver's that used to run in the back up front after a few changes. There's still the main group of drivers that always seem to be up front but it seems like the rest of the pack is slowly starting to creep up on them. It's getting much more interesting.

Two drivers dominated the day at Sears Point. For the first 61 laps it was Blade Tokunaga leading the way. He built up a 9 second lead over Nick Phillips at one point. But lapped cars holding him up allowed Nick Phillips to catch him and then pass him during green flag pit stops. Tokunaga was never able to take the lead back from and finished 2nd behind Phillips.

Today we saw a complete domination from Johnny Benson. He led 158 of the races 160 laps, the only 2 he did not lead were during green flag pit stops. The win was the first of Benson's career.

Both Rewbie racers in the top 5! Woo-hoo! Reason: only one DNF between them. But alas, this race ends Newsday's run of leading at every track.
Billy Bushinhimer had the strongest car all night and led over 200, but a major wreck knocked him and many others out the race. Johnny Benson, the winner of the last race, led 100 laps early but faded and finished 20th. After Bushinhimer's misfortune, Nick Phillips took the lead and led the races final 15 laps for the win.

Mustafa Henderson clearly had the strongest car of the day. On the first green flag run he moved up from 15th to 5th. He fell back to 11th after a caution and then moved his way up to the lead during that green flag run. He led 95 of the races final 101 laps.

While everyone else had to make late pit stops for fuel, Kevin Anderson was able to stay out and take the win. Johnny Benson was 2nd, followed by John Condor, Mike Tokunaga and Telle Snow. Points leader Nick Phillips was running 2nd with 8 laps to go when a piston broke on his car.

With 6 races left, Nick Phillips no longer has a stranglehold on the top spot. Telle Snow now has the lead and a 50 point lead. In just 3 races, Telle has gone from 204 back to 50 ahead. Nick has averaged a 30th place finish in the past three races while Telle has averaged a 4th place finish. Kevin Anderson finds himself 203 back of Snow. Newsday is 280 back. And Bluesday is 283 back.

Well, the rookie had a rough go of it while Sterling was pretty mediocre. Still, a lot more fun than last year for Team Silver.

The next race will be from Watkins Glen
None of the days top drivers were near the front at the end. Most of the top drivers got on a different pit sequence then others and it hurt them in the end. Blade Tokunaga led the most laps with 74 but finished 18th.

Actually, I've been too busy to even check out even the demo of the game yet. First week of basketball practice started this week so that takes up most of my time lately.
Only two drivers were able to stay out of trouble or go a lap down when cautions flew during green flag pit stops today. And those two, Newsday and Condor, finished 1, 2. Newsday led 170 laps en route to the win. Kevin Anderson started from the pole and 114 laps before he was involved in a wreck. Championship contender Nick Phillips crashed out and finished 34th. Championship front runner Telle Snow didn't fare too much better as he finished 22nd.

Yea. I believe Richmond and Bristol are the only tracks on the series that don't allow 42 cars.

I think Crapnificent won a race after I added him to the stable, but I'm not sure about Craptacular. I think he won the very first pole at Daytona, and it's all been downhill from there!

Snow motorsports Incorporated announced today that long time driver kai Collins will not be resigned at the end of this season.
"Kai is a great person and a special talent, but looking over the last few seasons we simply can't accept mediocrity. In other news retirement rumours have surfaced once again. Chris Snow during the press conference to announce Collins' release made a few remarks which lead this reporter to believe he may be pondering retirement from the series which he has dominated for so many seasons.
The results from the Pop Secret 400 will be up later.
Numerous accidents littered today's running of the Pop Secret 400. Telle Snow was involved in one and finished 27th. Another championship contender, Rewbie Newsday, was involved in a few but managed to finish 14th. Billy Bushinhimer led the most laps but finished 4th. Shane Kormelink picked up the victory by leading the races final 26 laps.

The championship race is down to basically two drivers, Nick Phillips and Telle Snow. Both Rewbie Newsday and Kevin Anderson both have outside chances at the title though. They will beed Phillips and Snow to have problems in both of the next two races. A major battle to get into the top ten in points is going on between quite a few drivers. Only 104 points separate positions 6 through 13. Chris Snow, currently in 13th, could finish 6th. But Rewbie Bluesday, who currently is 6th, could drop all the way to 13th.

Just want to post this now...I am leaving the country tomorrow and going to Geneva for 10 days...just so I don't miss it, if you post a Season 11 sign-up, both of my racers will be back!
The day started out with three drivers having a legimate shot at the title. Nick Phillips had the points lead at the start of the day but finished 28th a lap down. Rewbie Newsday ended up finishing the day 3rd, Telle Snow finished 13th. Billy Bushinhimer took the win. The final points ended up very very close.

Nick Phillips barely held onto the championship. An amazing late season charge from Rewbie Newsday made it very very close. Nick won by only 4 points. Newsday led a lap in 12 of 20 races, if he had led laps in 13 races he would be the champion. Billy Bushinhmer ended up 3rd in the championship race with 2 wins. Telle Snow was 4th and Kevin Anderson was 5th only 46 points back. Too bad there's not one more race left for the top 5 to battle it out.

13 and 27 aren't too bad. Sterling is a few points short of the top 10 but that's ok. Next season, maybe back to the top 10.

Not a bad first year for the Canadian racing club, all 3 in the top 20, now if we can just crack the top 10 next year.
