View Full Version : Do the NFL and TV Networks Really Think This Increases Viewership?

I invested 3 hours of my day today watching the Rams/Bears game, only to have the station change to another game at 4:15 just as the Rams got the ball at their one, down by one point, with a couple of minutes left to go.

The station had to change to the other game because the NFL/Network rules states that even if the game has been showed for the entire time, they are not allowed to show the conclusion but must instead switch to the other game. This was explained by th local station as the rule.

Remnants of Heidi abound.

This hardly makes me want to watch NFL games if I can't finish them out. Does the first five minutes of the Lions/Seahawks matter as much as the last five minutes of the Rams/Bears when the Rams are trying a last chance drive to win?

By the way, the Rams won, apparently they kicked a FG. And I was completely unable to watch it.

By my unofficial count, this is the 206th time that the NFL broadcast rules have been the subject of a complaint at FOFC.

I was going to be upset if the crappy Browns/Cardinals game cut into the start of the Lions/Seahawks game..... but I can understand your gripe.....

local tv here carried the stl game to the end, then switched to the gb game already in progress...

what always bothers me is when a team is winning by 25 pts with 2 minutes left, and the network stays on that rather switching to another game in the same conference in overtime.

And the 206th time I tell those not living in the NYC area that they don't know what annoying broadcasting is.

Never had that problem here... We got Dolphins/Ravens and Skins/Panthers... both to the finish, and even got to watch the end of the KC/Cinnci game. Now we've got Pack/Bucs...

I've never had any gripes with the way they do things... not here atleast. When I've been in other states it's usually awful though, but without a local team it's great.

I think its a rule if the 2nd game is your local team.

Also, if Fox has a 4 pm game but not CBS, then CBS cannot show any games past 4:15 I believe.

What a game that was (Rams - Bears). A cold outdoor team we are not.
