I started a new game with Keyshawn a free agent. I altered the player file, set his contract years to zero and in the new game... Keyshawn Johnson #89 FL New England Patriots 1yr $660,000

I may have missed something but Keyshawn isn't a free agent nor is he likely to be. He'll get traded during the offseason most likely. You should have made him have a one year deal and put him on IR. That would be more realistic than him playing this season with another team.

That's assuming you're after realism of course.

I don't think you can start with a player on IR, can you? I agree that yould be ideal, but I didn't want to see him screwing up and helping the Bucs, then re-signing with them..

I don't know the answer to that either. I was hoping my answer would lead you to try. ;)

I looked into it more. I don't think there is any way to do it. I think this is probably the closest to "reality" that it gets, other than to start with Tampa and de-activate him at this same point, then trade him. But I'm not going to do that! I have the Lions to contend with, and we have our own problems!!!

You know, it doesn't affect how I play the game but this is something that I know people would like to be able to do and right now I don't think it's possible either.

Maybe somebody should suggest this to Jim? At the very least, being able to IR from the beginning would help simulate reality in way more examples than this.

Dola, actually it would be more realistic to let Tampa keep him as he has played over half their games but I can see you not wanting us to get him next season either. Is it possible to take over a team in multi for just a week then turn it back over to the computer?

Then you could cut him in the playoffs and due to past injustices he will NOT resign with Tampa. That might work.

I wouldn't bother Jim with this little thing. There are much more important things, right Jim? (THANKS!)

Either IR, or the ability to set injuries on import.

I'd say the latter was what I was thinking of. We have a lot of history file makers and giving them this would be a huge tool for realism purposes.

I wouldn't worry about bothering Jim, he's pretty good at prioritizing and if he doesn't want to do something he simply won't.

He has said that Front Office Football would never be multiplayer and he's held strong to that...oh wait, nevermind. :D
