visuals of how the divisions would shake out.

NOT PICTURED: the 4th Northeast team, and the "frequent flyers" division.

I think we do too, but I'd suggest before making anything official we should have more like 2/3 or 3/4 support. And at this stage, if there should happen to be any dissent we should listen to the concerns and see if there is some way to address the matter. In this case I don't see any deal breakers, but just for future decisions.

Dola - just a follow up on this - we might still want to check with Jim to see what the possible ramifications are with having teams located in such close proximity (see: Atlanta). This wouldn't change the divisional lineup, but may have some bearing on the cities chosen.

I don't see why we need to do that at all cuervo. We do not have to "physically" locate our teams in those cities (i.e. put them at the correct lat, lon). In fact, this will be impossible for the international teams. I had assumed that we were just going to change the names of existing NFL cities and use those.

Mmm, good point. I think there should be the option of putting the city information in there though, at least coordinates for some. Obviously teams like San Antonio, San Jose, Anaheim, Syracuse, Rochester could have the correct information, as they're already in the game. Same goes for the entire Midwest Division, which doesn't need editing at all, just reaffiliation.

Just for giggles, has anyone tried to enter information for say, Paris, just to see what would happen?

Oh, editing climate conditions might be fun too, in some instances.

edit: in any event, we need to determine at least which teams will be affiliated with what cities.

1. I PM'ed Jim about his team location, hopefully he'll let us know where he'll place it soon.

2. I'd be fine with 'really' moving some cities (when it will create no potential conflict). At the least, it would be nice to enter correct weather info for our cities (get ready for snow games in Fairbanks). But all of this ties into my next point:

3. I really think the much bigger issue to resolve is determining how we deal with financials. Are we going to care at all, or basically ignore them?

This argument is being held across leagues everywhere....

I think that to some extent we will have to deal with them, in that there are meddling owners. Last night I went to resign my QB, and when I went to adjust his offer (to lower it, of course :) ) I got a popup stating that my owner had set a maximum amount for signing a player. Unless this is turned off somehow (it has been adjusted for staff already in the patch), we will have to deal with finances. It will be in the best interest of the player to keep his finances somewhat in order.

I'm not sure what constraints we should/will be able to place on them outside of the game itself - there is already a salary cap, a limit on staff, and ticket prices should be at the discretion of the owner. Not sure what else there is.

edit: really, the only thing you could tamper with is city information that has a bearing on finances. I don't think much of this should be changed, besides maybe setting a minimum population for all franchises to start. Though that has never held Green Bay back.

I check PMs about once a month, so probably faster just to email me (SkyDog did to alert me about this thread).

I would like to name my team the Ann Arbor Anachronism. I hope that doesn't cause alignment problems.

If someone is willing to put together a helmet/uniform, that would be great. The team colors are Solecismic Yellow and blue, and the logo is a watch taken from Dali's Persistence of Memory.

If we are concerned about the divisional alignments I am happy to move my team to Boston and swap divisions with Solecismic. Kodos and I have a rivalry thing going from Madden so I would like to be in his division.

hmmm. I was already working on a new alignment (moving Astoria and Brooklyn to the Northeast, and myself and Jim to the current Mid-atlantic), but what you're proposing would probably be easier and geographically neater.

I'd say barring any last monkey wrenches (by the 32nd franchise), moving you to Boston would be a good move.

And you can help me beat Kodos into submission. :)

Attempting a logo...I'll have to leave the uniforms to Fritz though if he chooses to create them (I'll attempt a helmet though).
