One more puzzle for the day, since the Pirates one has been solved. This one is a different kind of puzzle, not sure how well it will go over but let's find out.

Four words add up to a fifth word numerically:

mars
venus
uranus
saturn
-------- +
neptune
Each of those ten letters (m, a, r, s, v, e, n, u, t, and p) represents a unique number in the range 0 to 9. An additional hint: the numbers 1 and 6 are being used most frequently.

What number does "neptune" represent?

From where I was headed, it looks like VPI is right.

Nicely done.

Just curious, do people prefer these kinds of puzzles (where you work towards one answer, and you know it when you find it) or the logic-type puzzles like the lions/sheep or pirates?

I like lions/sheep type puzzles.

OK. Winston Churchill is sitting in a room, surrounded by ten hungry lions...
