At an unscheduled press conference Nebraska University (AD) Steve Pederson announced that he was firing Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops.
A stunned press core listened as Peterson explained that after the beating the Sooners took in the Big XII championship game he was forced to make the tuff decision and let Stoops go. Calling it both a disgrace and embaresment to be beat so soundly in a nationally televised game.
Peterson said that he was looking at former Nebraska head coach Frank Solich as a possible replacement for Stoops. Solich has his Cornhuskers on the verge of a 10 win season this year.
To conclude the press confrence Pederson put Kansas City Cheifs head coach Dick Vermeil on notice. Unless Vermeil can win the Super Bowl this year, "I will fire his ass too"
