Another excellent choice. However, Christmas at Ground Zero just has that fun, uplifting sound that all Christmas songs should have.

Sorry, I just love the image of Santa going postal on the North Pole before getting carted away by the feds or getting killed in a shootout (depending on the version) to nice cheery, sing-songy music. :D

It's Christmas time, again
It's time to be nice to the people that you can't stand
All year
I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer
You people scare me
Please stay away from my home
If you don't wanna get me down,
Just leave the presents and then leave me alone

My favorite silly Christmas Season Songs (making a CD tonight of this stuff, if I can find a couple more songs to add to it)
Christmas in Hollis- Run DMC
Santa Baby- (the old version)
The Night Santa Went Crazy/Christmas At Ground Zero (Weird Al)
The 12 Pains of Christmas
Jingle Hells Bells
Wreck The Malls (favorite line "Send the beagles on a Rampage.") :)
I Saw Daddy Kissing Santa Claus (a coworker can't believe someone made this song ;))
Oh Holy Night -- Eric Cartman
12 Days of Christmas- The Muppets
((Note: If anyone can direct me to a MP3 or whatever of Stan Freiburg's "Christmas Dragnet" I would much much much appreciate it! I need it for the CD))
Not so Silly XMas Songs
Santa Claus is Comin To Town (Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Concert. I'm shocked and appalled noone mentioned this one)
Do They Know It's Christmas Time Band Aid
Little Saint Nick -- Beach Boys
The Little Drummer Boy -- Anne Murray
Also By Anne Murray -- Three Christmas Wishes, or My Christmas Wish. (one line is: "My Third Wish, for now and forever, is to spend all my Christmases.. with you)
Feliz Navidad -- Daze (Techno :))
Honorable mention to Adam Sandler's holiday season Haunakkah tunes :)

Blue Christmas, sung by Porky Pig
It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Syphilis - Dr. Dirty
As far as serious songs go, I'm pretty well worn out on the standards, so about the only Christmas songs I willingly listen to are from Hawksley Workman's Almost a Full Moon.

Actually, one of my favorite "Christmas" songs is Red Water (Christmas Mourning) by Type O Negative. Admittedly a downer, but holidays are often depressing for people who have lost loved ones, and this song does a great job of capturing that feeling.

The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
Speaking of which, I think it's about time to blow my friends off the stage singing that at karaoke.
This Chrismas - Dru Hill
Holly, Jolly Christmas - Burl Ives (there's just something about that song in Rudolph...)
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree - Brenda Lee
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - any decent choir accompanied by orchestra.

For my "serious" Christmas selections, I like a lot of the songs from Trans-Siberian Orchestra's two Christmas albums.

I've got their first. The big song on there "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" is just genius. The rest of the CD is also very good. I'd love to see them perform it live.

Funny. My mom and my wife love T-SO. Neither of them enjoyed Savatage's Streets years ago when I played it all of the time. Basically the same thing, although one is a "Christmas" album and the other is a "metal opera" album.
Packaging. It's what sells.

I went to their concert last year, and loved it. They were supposed to start their "Beethoven's Last Night" tour this year, but it got delayed again. They are doing the Christmas tour again right now, but are "planning" to start the Beethoven tour in May 2004.
