I feel a little like Roy E. Munson right now, intimidated in the presence of so many great athletes.

Is there any sort of confirmation? Because I have no idea if I've successfully registered or not...although I've clicked on the "OK" button in the new window several times.
Thanks, first time at AP.
You should get a little popup window.... and you name should be on the list....

And I depart from LionKings table sitting around 6,000. Looks like a little more active table.
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:01 PM
Just won about 5k with KJ in small blind, sitting around 9,500 now.
Celeval
01-01-2004, 11:06 PM
I'm still at about $1400... bounced up to about $3k, then back down. Nothing terribly exciting here, not playing too well.
ctmason
01-01-2004, 11:08 PM
Just went all-in and busted out LK...sorry, man.
This is the worst I've played in sometime...... I must redeem myself......
Celeval
01-01-2004, 11:15 PM
I'm out, went all-in on 2-pair Q4, lost to A4. 278th place.
ctmason
01-01-2004, 11:16 PM
Oh well drawn out on what I thought was a proper straight draw to go all-in with. 280-something.

Thought my pocket Ts were good enough there, but lost on the flush draw!
Chinaski is still in though!
hoopsguy

At the first break sitting 10,830. Not getting much last few hands, trying to be patient and not call the aggressive guy at the table (whose stack is now around 5k) with a marginal hand.
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:21 PM
Wouldn't have changed my play, petro (with big stack it made sense to call) but I would have at least been more social over the few hands we played together.
If you guys wanna hang-around..... registration for the 2am FreeRoll at AP begins at 1am.....
hoopsguy-
What table are you at.... i'm following along with chinaski..... but lost track of you....
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:25 PM
Table 32 now
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:25 PM
Check that, just moved to 60
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:38 PM
how is chinaski doing?
I'm sitting a little under 8k right now. Certainly not making things happen ...
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:43 PM
lost a 20k hand with two highest cards on board. winner had pocket aces and board had paired deuces (Q/10 for me).
Drat, drat, drat. sitting 2500 now. Have to work hard to make any move at this point.
looking a little better now.....
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:49 PM
Had a short rush, but couldn't get any caller on river or I would have been back in business.
6k and (hopefully) rising
petrochile
01-01-2004, 11:52 PM
looking real good now!
hoopsguy
01-01-2004, 11:54 PM
yeah, that one certainly helped.
stayed 98 on button with 6 players, flopped two pair and had two guys go all-in against it with short stacks.
About 15k now, blinds up to 300/600.

where are you guys playing at?
hoopsguy
01-02-2004, 12:11 AM
Tossed away a few thousand on pocket nines and again on big slick, not even getting to the river with big stacks throwing weight around now.
5760 and hoping to double up with A9 and board at 898 .... I'm all-in for first time tonight
hoopsguy
01-02-2004, 12:13 AM
and get 16k for my efforts, beating an A10 from the guy at 100k.
Still firing, although blinds at 500/1000 and heavy raises are making it progressively more difficult. 50 players left.

Doubled up off him again with flush! Hit on turn, he tried to muscle me on river.
34k and next break coming up shortly.

Hoops, nice flush there!
looking really good right now.....
hoopsguy

At the break, 48 players left
Big stack is 98k and, of course, at my table.
Small stack is a lot less than me at each of remaining six tables.
Hoping that I can keep the momentum going after the break and make the ending of this thread from being the usual bad-beat/close-but-no-cigar.

For some reason the software shows me as "not connected to the internet"....and well, as I am posting here, im obviously on the internet....anyone have any idea what to possibly check
hoopsguy

Heard a few people had to exit and come back in to get going on AP tonight. Think that is part of reason that LionKing and I were playing heads-up earlier tonight.

I have no answer to your problem, other than AP's program isn't the greatest. If you can't get in, I suggest you go over to Poker Stars and get in on the 3am FreeRoll. On most occasions there are a few FOFCers in the latenight FreeRoll.

Damn, this sucks....for some reason my router told me the same thing a week or so ago....I just put it aside as I didnt really need it to work at the moment. Now I guess I gotta go google the hell out of this problem and see whats up.....I probably just have 1 setting in my internet options messed up.

Well, the table has lost the big stacks, but I have lost playable cards. Sitting at 24k now with 43 players left. Big stack at our table is around 43k, although some monsters loom at other tables.
keep me updated.... I closed AP and can't seem to get it back running
hoopsguy
01-02-2004, 12:48 AM
Pushed another small stack hard on all-in for me (would have left him with 2k) on A9 with board reading K66.
24k again, blinds at 2k/4k.

I have given up on registering for the next AP freeroll.
hoopsguy

Going all-in with AK against two other players
hoopsguy
01-02-2004, 12:50 AM
And got back less than the 4k, lost to pocket kings when board didn't give anything to anyone.
Have a couple of hands to work with before blinds make their way here.
hoopsguy
01-02-2004, 12:51 AM
Four hands left until blind, holding out for at least a queen. Hate being in this position.

I'm having a hard time with AP tonight too. Going to register for PokerStars freeroll soon though.

Better than I could have hoped for, AQ.
Lost to a straight, had a pair of queens (highest on board).

Finished 17th. Best finish yet (think that was my 4th one), although I didn't threaten to be in the money (top 4) at any point.
Thanks for the encouragement, guys. Hope to do this again sometime.
Note: posting on tournament play is good for boosting the post count.
well AP worked it problems out..... here we go

Turn off any firewalls you have on. I was baffled by what appears to have been the same message that you were getting, at first.
Congrats on the good showing, hoopsguy!
