Yeah... but I don't think this is the night to learn a new game. ;) I'm dropping out - if I'm still around for the PS game, I'll be in there.

Wow...that was quick. I guessed someone was doing a bluff all-in, i had 4 hearts on the flop, so I just took my chances, lost to the pair. Anyway, I'm glad I won the $14 off my friends in very-low stakes Hold'em in real life and had an early exit in this tournament.
Taking it easy.... sitting with 2,280

finally i get a hand, KK. and lose to a made flush with a 84 suited in the hole.... dude called my preflop raise with it. granted he was on the button.
but these 4000+ player tournaments are chock full of loose players. they'll call anything.
I can't believe I just did that..... I was clicking around watching everyone's games and acciidently called 2,000 on a shit hand.... rotten luck

<sigh>.......Well, i cracked under the pressure. Finished 35th. By far the best i've done, but i let the head games get to me. There were a couple really slapnuts on that last table i was at, and they kinda threw me out of my groove. But anyway, it was fun. I'm going to bed now.

Congrats on a couple of nice runs, Wasabiak. I'm bummed I didn't know about the Omaha tournament - would have enjoyed giving it a go. I don't think I'm particularly good at the game, but have played it enough at AP to feel pretty confident against many of the regulars at the free pot-limit games there. In general, those games are more enjoyable than the all-in fests for play money at AP.

Todd Next time that happens, shut off their chat mode. They're purposely trying to throw you off. That's their game. So ignore it, and you have your edge back.
Heck, I sometimes shut off their pictures if it distracts my attention.

About 1.8 to 1 against to complete your flush. Winning the pot obviously depends on many other factors.

Well there are 13 cards of each suit so you basically had 9 outs to make the flush. I think you had a 19% chance of hitting another card to make the flush, but my math could be off. That also doesnt take into account the number of players that were dealt cards with the same suit as you.
Edited to fix stupid mistake pointed out :D
Yeah your math is off. 13-4 is 9 :) It's also about 38% I believe.
Airhog
01-03-2004, 12:40 PM
that high? Im my caculations I subtracted the 5 cards that he has seen from the deck. Should you also subtract the cards that have been dealt to other players? But wouldnt this increase the odds too much?
According to Brunson's Super System it's 1.86 to 1 against and 34.97% to complete your flush if you flop four suited (page 577).
