Boy the defense sure isn't letting them down, other than that tackling lapse on the big pass, they've been great.

Dola
The way it looks so far, a touchdown might just win this.
And do the cowboys need a new punter or WHAT?
You ain't kidding. That last punt was 15 yards.

Gowin is certainly out of here after this season. He's been horrid all season...

Daylight come and we wanna Delhomme! Or solmething. Reading too much Sports Guy info on the Panthers. I'm sure the Panthers will find a way to make this game go into OT, but hopefully they can pull it out.

even QuikSand is barely over 6,000 right now.. maybe someone rolled back the odomoter on the site, looking to sell it.

I wonder if the posts from the old board got rolled back when it went bye-bye. Of course, that doesn't explain why it happened now when the old board died a couple of months ago...

No. as long as they get any points before halftime, the Cowboys are definitely still in this.

okay here we go, Quincy the Good just showed up.

I still predict an overtime. At worst, a 4 point game in regulation, but most likely an overtime.

Well....its some points at least....
The defense needs to hold them the rest of the half.

yeah, that does it. Wonder if Carolina can win in St Louis? I just don't see it happening, but my favorite team and I hate Martz and Warner so much... GO PANTHERS
Tasan
01-03-2004, 09:03 PM
Carolina has no chance in St. Loius. They don't have the corners to keep up with them. I'm not sure anyone in the NFL has the coverage to keep up with them right now. Maybe the Eagles...

I guess we Cowboys fans can take solace in the fact that nobody, not even us, expected the 'boys to be back in the postseason show this soon.
Its a bitter ending to a rather unexpected season.
JeeberD
01-03-2004, 09:49 PM
Damn straight, we need to keep this in perspective. Though a playoff win would have been very nice... :(
Tasan
01-03-2004, 09:50 PM
And now its over
No dreams of onside kicks
No dreams of two point conversions
Just over.
Thanks Bill, for the season.
Tasan
01-03-2004, 09:53 PM
And now that I've thought about it, maybe this is the best turnout for them with an unexpected playoff game. You win it, and you might get a big head and lose focus on the fact you are coming from 3 straight 5-11 seasons. This might help them keep perspective and know that they need to keep building.

Need #1. A real running back. Troy Hambrick needs to go back to the #2 back position. He was pretty good there, but he's no feature back. The problem with the offense now is that we have no running game so that Q has to try and do to much himself. Once we get a running game then Q will be allowed to play to his skills and the offense will move the ball a lot more smoothly...

So.... Is it Kurt Warner of Mark Brunell next year?
Tasan
01-03-2004, 10:00 PM
I saw a very early mock draft today that had Cedric Benson falling to the Cowboys in the 1st. Thoughts on him?
cthomer5000
01-03-2004, 10:00 PM
by the way, Congratulations Panthers. They've had one hell of a season, and now can add a 2nd home playoff win against the Boys to their history. I wouldn't mind seeing them knock off St. Louis next week.

Well...he was a legend in the state of Texas even before he set foot on the UT campus. And he's underachieved the past couple of years for the Horns. But beyond that your guess is as good as mine as to what kind of pro he'll make...

ATTENTION ARIZONA AREA COWBOYS FANS (and I know there's a TON of you)
Please PM me for my address...beatings will be offered all night...none will be turned away.
Now I don't have anything necessarily against Cowboys fans, or as I like to call them, "Those To Whom God's Mighty Justice Is Owed." You were warned, I warned all of you on this board and in the national news media. You were given fair warning - you are either with the Panthers, or you are with the terrorists.
Let this game be a lesson, your days of revery and championships will cost you in the final judgement, you have trusted the beast for too long, and now your sentence will be carried out. The Panthers, as clearly the team favored by Jesus, are carrying out that which was already written.
I have heard the snickering, I have heard the subtle jibes from those among you and offline...I heard you snicker at the Arizona game when I was there in person.
And now look upon the playoff victory, look upon it...and despair. I can assure you, your jibes and self-aggrandizing have not been forgotten...and your names are noted...you too, will have your day in court.
Final Score 29 to 10. Choke on it.

Take a look at the, lets see, 5 Superbowl trophies and decades of playoff wins, and come back to me with "choke on it" when you get at least 2 superbowl wins....
Oh and no, I'm not in Arizona, but I think this still applies.

I heard on the radio the other day that the Cowboys scouts are drooling over Phillip Rivers. So they might not be going after a veteran QB after all...

That wouldn't suprise me too much. I think there will be some quality backs in the second round to go after, well, and we always need another defensive end as well. I miss Dallas area radio.

Yeah nothing like the old "I'm about to get sacked deep behind the LOS, so I'll hurl the ball randomly toward a possible receiver at the last minute play. Coaches LOVE that." :)

He did that TWICE without even looking to see if the check-down receiver was covered or wide open. That 8 yard loss pass to Richie Anderson was one of them, and there was another earlier in the game.
Parcells didn't freak out, so he must have realized he's not ever going to get through to Q.
I expect a new QB and RB next season.

The weird thing about him is, early in the season, like right after the preseason, he was checking down and making smart throwaways. It seemed like the later in the season it got, the dumber he got.
