My #15 seed Colgate Raiders are playing #2 TCU Horned Frogs. The Frogs are #2 in the nation in scoring, and #23 in FG%, #24 in 3PT%, and #23 in FT%.

So why do I post? Because I am afraid this won't last forever, but... I paused with 5:19 left in the game, and we are up 22-10! TCU scored 2 points in the first 7 minutes, but we only managed 6. TCU is shooting an abysmal .182, including .111 from downtown (their usual bread and butter). Let us not forgot they are 0-4 at the line.

They are the most ice cold team ever. I love it. I pray it lasts all game.

5:19 left in the game? Wow. That is some awful shooting.

Do you mean 5:19 left in the 1st half or the game? I'm assuming 1st half, but good luck either way.

1st half, my bad.

TCU ended up shooting .373 for the game, so they picked it up in the second half obviously, but I still won 79-68 by turning my pace to 0 and eating up a lot of time. My team also shot .522, which should have given me the hint that this wouldn't last another round. That big of a FG% difference between us and I win by just 11, with them closing it to 5 near the end (before subsequent free throws)? Lucky I am. TCU also chucked 23 three's, making just 5.

I end up losing in the second round to #7 Oregon, 95-56. :( Ouch.

I hope heavy reads this. I keep getting a run-time error, division by 0 when trying to process the Asst. Coach Stage.

Can you send me your save? The league.dat file will probably do.

I've been reading a lot of good things about FBCB, and wondering if I should try it out. I like watching college basketball a lot but I freely admit I don't have much knowledge about the positions/strategies that go on with it. I don't know if I'd be lost in trying a basketball sim, or what.

There is a 3-day trial that you can try to determine if you like the game or not. You can download it here if you are interested:

I'll make sure to check it out tomorrow, HR. I've been reading Godzilla Blitz's UC-Riverside dynasty and it looks very interesting!

You should rename this Fairy Tale of Hope. I am sure you meant #222 TCU.

GB wasn't the most knowledgable basketball person in the world before picking this game either, if I remember correctly. So this game can appeal to just about anyone. Its definately worth a try.

Yup. I've probably been to a half dozen basketball games in my life, and seen an equal number on tv. Never played much, either.

There was a slight, "Humm, what the hell do I do now?" stage when I first started playing, and I still don't understand most of the defensive sets, but for the most part the game is friendly to those who nothing about the sport, and the recommend button can help you with settings you don't understand yet. I'm sure basketball knowledge would help quite a bit, but after a few seasons things make sense. I know a lot more about basketball now than I did a month ago.

I've been playing the demo, and it's very addictive. I'm mostly going with the recommended settings, but tweaking the depth chart when I feel a player needs more (or less) PT. Great fun so far.

I just tried to send it like 3 or 4 times because it seems to send but gets stuck on Norton Scanning because 'my connection was lost', yet it is saying it was sent.

So if you don't get it, I will try at a different address. Itching to play!

Just an idea, but zipping the file up may make it a little less painless for the virus scan.

[email protected] should work but you can also try [email protected]. Definately make sure you zip the file first.

I have a question about the promotion/relegation thing, is it like NCAA Football, where you have to perform well every season and hope to get an offer, or is it automatic, last place is out, first place of another conference steps in? So is it possible for a smaller school to get into the Big Ten while say Indiana has a bad year and gets kicked out?

It's automatic, but the number of conferences at each of the levels can be different, so in some cases not all conference winners get promoted and not all last place teams get dropped. For example, there are eight level 2 conferences but only five level 3 conferences, so the top five level 2 conference winners get promotions. The other three stay in place. (Level 3 is more prestigious than Level 2, by the way).

I might be a little off here, but that's the general idea.

The promotion/relegation feature can provide some surprising results as well. I was messing with the demo today and noticed that after a string of terrible seasons, Michigan had fallen all the way down to the Colonial Athletic Association.

Now, THAT is what I like to see!

I'm impatiently waiting for my fiancee to get back into town with her laptop so I can play FBCB again. I don't have Windows XP on my machine, so I have to wait for her return. Doggone it.
