they added commas to the player values and now my Hattrick spreadsheets won't parse the player listing right!!! GRRRRR!!!

if it ain't broke, don't fix it, they say... The match reports are nice now, the commas were not necessary, at least I was never raised to use them here in Quebec... oh well...

Has weak experience and passable leadership abilities [Quick]

Tim, I read your comment in the USA conference, replying to Brandon. Brandon is in Canada too, I guess this is only in Canada... Look at Nick's value below...

Your 25 players

Nick de Hooge
1,174,000 C$, 23 years, passable form
Has inadequate experience and weak leadership abilities

Stamina: excellent Keeper: excellent
Playmaking: disastrous Passing: wretched
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: disastrous Set Pieces: wretched

My parser was looking for the first comma as the delimiter for the value, now I'm gonna make it look for the "C$" and then have to substitute all the "," for "" in order to be able to make a value out of it, a tiny pain, but unneeded...

I don't know much about Excel...but my values and stuff worked fine in your killer spreadsheet. Is this possibly related to some of the issues that US people had when you first posted your spreadsheet? I seem to remember there was some problem with the spreadsheet not working for us US players...but I definitely don't remember what the problem was...

The original problem with FM's spreadsheet (at least, the one I encountered) was with the VALUE function in older versions of Excel.

I don't have commas and using "English" language in my French League.

Commas have disappeared from my players page this morning, weird...

tk, as Mr. Wednesday said, the problem was with some version of Excel not being able to compute the "value" function with spaces in the middle of a number shown as text...

oh well, for now everything works as before, we'll see if the disappearing commas resurface again...
