Too bad its not the Dodgers, but Halos are a better destination than Baltimore or New York.

Yeah, cause that A-Rod signing worked out so well for the Rangers...

There's a difference here, JeeberD. The Angels already have pitching! :)

Seriously, though, it was the oddball signing of Park to that mammoth contract that hurt the Rangers more than ARod's contract, IMO.

I feel the sympathy from fan to fan, having been a supporter of a team that often strikes out on its free agent swings (even when they reel them in), but since you're an AL West team and I can still remember the days of Juan Gone and Pudge and how good you guys were, I'm afraid I don't have much tears for them.

If it makes you feel any better, I like you guys better than the A's and M's. ;)

Good news: Vlad will not be playing for the Dodgers or Yankees.

Bad news: He will play for the other LA team.

Actually, I'm an Astros fan. I just had to throw a A-Rod reference out there... :)

Very true about the pitching, though. And the fact that Vlad's contracts isn't anywhere near as huge as A-Rod's shouldn't be debilitating to the Angels over the course of the next five years.

Oh well that changes everything. I don't have anything against the Astros (except for maybe them signing Nolan Ryan away from us, and a lot of that was Ryan and Autry, not the Stros' "fault"). :)

Sad day for Montreal fans. Not that it'll really matter, but having Vlady and Javier both gone definitely ends any hope of that team staying there.

Then again, we could have outdrawn them in Edmonton, but I digress.

Vlad and Anderson pretty much automatically makes Anaheim the best outfield in the AL.

Jeez... how much was the deal? I didn't think the Halos had the cash to get Vlad. Looks like they are now a 'big-market' team, eh? ;) ;)

5 years $70 million.

The Angels have had the money since Disney bought them, but they've been a bit reluctant to spend it. I think the Mo Vaughn disaster kinda made them a bit skiddish. I've considered them a big market team since the disney purchase, not on the same level as New York or Boston, but they have definately had the money.

Great signing for the Angels. They go from having a very good offseason, to having a great one. They have a solid rotation, top notch outfield, a good infield, and a manager that gets a lot out of his players. You can't ask for much more than that. Vlad is a player that can make drastic changes to the way an opponent plays. From his cannon for an arm to his speed on the bases, and the fact that he's the only player that doesn't walk much that actaully has that considered a strength in his game by some. I don't think there is a more gifted player with a bat in his hands in baseball right now. Hopefully the Angels market him as what he is, the most exciting player to watch in baseball right now.

I would get season tickets just to see Vlad play. I got an opportunity to watch him play at Cincy a few times and he is incredible to watch.

As a Mariners fan, let me be the first to say FUCK!

Great addition by the Halos, and I wish the Mariners would've had the cajones to go after him...

You're not going to be saying that when we convince Roger to come out of retirement to play for us this year... :)

Stupid cheap ass Mets. Then we got the other team i root for, who can't afford to sign anyone.
