i'm going to use this thread to post some idea's to add some "wrinkles" to IHOF, maybe we can come up with some features that will add a level of "uniqueness" to our league. feel free to post an idea you have for the Board of Governors that'd you think you'd be neat to have whole process again.in the league.

IHOF Bowl Ideas
may or may not be fun to have Dutch simming the Bowl live on IHOF Bowl Sunday. it can be broadcast via IM or some other chat-room type medium.
maybe have a break between Conference Championship game and IHOF Bowl. this would be like media week for the real Super Bowl. maybe just a day off between games would allow interviews with Bowl Coaches/GM's, give league writers a day to write up some articles to cover the game. i hate "rinse-and-repeat" league where everyone goes through the motions and we all miss out on the "specialness" that is taking your team to the Championship game. the end of the regular season shouldn't just be a time where all non-playoff bound teams try to speed things up just to start the

League Website Ideas
We should have a IHOF Bowl History section where we take the transcripts (be that boxscores, logs or IM chat broadcasts or all of the above) from all IHOF Bowl games.
we should track career win-loss records for all owners in the game. that way if someone leaves the league after several seasons they can be eligible for the league HOF. plus it's great for trash-talk. i think there already is a report generated by the game that has this information, shouldn't be too hard to track.
do we go with game-generated HOF inductee's - or are we able to edit that file every seaosn so we can invite our own members to the HOF? this sort of stuff isn't hard to do in OOTP leagues. if we have a healthy amount of writers in the league - do we leave it to the "media" to vote in (which would be really neat), or do we form a "HOF Committee"? maybe guidelines for media HOF Committee members would be that you have to write a minimum amount of articles per season so that we give incentive for people to write some great stuff, we get added immersion (who doesn't like seeing people write about their team?) and there's a reward for added involvement in the league.

this is just off the top of my head. you may like all ideas, you may not. everyone's input would be great to edit or add on to these ideas. now that we have our leadership in place, maybe now would be a great time for everyone else to be getting creative so that we can make this league unique. this is the elite league in FOFC afterall. :p

Let's vote for AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters after every season.
Each GM submits his selections (cannot vote for HIS players obvisously) and a final roster is assembled based on the overall count and announced.
We should keep track of these ProBowl rosters on the website, in the archive section or somewhere.

I like the idea of a HOF commitee HA, every owner votes for inductions (80% of votes are needed to make it happen).

Yes. i like the Pro Bowl idea.

does anyone know if we can edit information on the player cards, most specifically the awards won section? i'd like to be able to list Pro Bowl selections and list notable things like "2012 NFC leading rusher". OOTP does a great job of tracking accomplishments. just curious as to how much is editable in the game. Jim certainly has come strides from the way he used to do it.

I don't know if we'd be able to do the individual player cards...but we could probably easily put that stuff on the website.

I'm looking to be a part of such a league - not necessarily as a player, but contributing utilities and add-ons to create the uniqueness. If you guys have any interest in help on these, let me know.

may or may not be fun to have Dutch simming the Bowl live on IHOF Bowl Sunday. it can be broadcast via IM or some other chat-room type medium. This is fairly easy in IRC chatrooms - a simply text replay IRC script will take care of it for you.

Setting who is in th ehall of fane (and what percent of the votes that they get is relatively easy in the data files. My only concern about writing something like that would be that it would require saving back to the save game files, which is a dangerous game.

The newest version of my reporter does just this. Tracks all pro teams, MVP, chanpionships, Legend of the ganme, Player of the year, Rookie of the yeaar, and times (and years) placed amongst the top 10 in all of the stats.

wow Fido. simply awesome. this is what i wanted this thread for - list ideas and have people add their ideas and we discuss how likely or unlikely it is to implement these ideas.

not to my knowledge. It sounds like we're going to need some pretty serious webspace. I can glady host it until it gets out of hand (I can definitely set aside about 60 megs).

People seem to want to hold off working on it until we're actually off the ground.

yeah, Fido seems like he'd be a killer website admin. i'm sure he could put up some stellar eye candy.

somthing like this league website (http://dotcomma.net/ngbl/) would be awesome. even the FOBL has a nice layout with nice colors and such.
