I go to check my messages yesterday and what do I see?
Received mother club money for a player: 5 000 US$.
Ok, that's not a lot of cash, but I'm curious about my former players. Well, apparently it was my youth pull from a week ago. He got no training because his value was the same but he was sold for $99,999. The daytrader had bought him at $112,000 :D
He's just not very good, I guess. I noticed a couple of other players he had daytraded, also with no luck (sold a $15K guy for $10K, a $7K for $7K, etc- but he did have some guys who sold for slightly more).
Just a heartwarming story from someone who dislikes daytraders :)

I just love how all my former players get trained and sell for lots, and I get a lot of mother club/previous club money. It's like a nice X-Mas gift.
P.S. Frog if you're reading this I have my eye on a couple wingbacks that I might buy.

dola, related to that warming heart feeling...
Last week, I was shopping around for a new trainee, when I realized one of my former trainee was on the market. When I sold him, he was a 17yo that had just popped to solid playmaker, after only one week of training. I put him on the market because I didn't have a regular training slot for him and also, he only had porr passing and defending as secondaries, with only a poor stamina. I got a mere 100k for him at the time. Last week, he was on the market, as an 18yo excellent playmaker, with now inadequate stamina. The price was very reasonable at first, so I got into a tiny bidfight for him, went on for a while. When I finally dropped out of the bidding, his price was at 550k U$ :) That was the final price, I got 27500 U$ of mother club money for that bidfight :)

Unfortunatly, it's looking like the 2 guys I have bookmarked are gonna end at odd hours. So I really have to put a good bid in and hope I don't get outbid. /cross fingers

sterling . . .
You just don't like them guys because you don't do research (because I know how much you geeks who likes text sims disdain doing any kind of research or thinking). If you would do research and learn from the daytraders then you can use their methods because there's no differences at all between US and Swedish markets. Also, stop coming home drunk on a Saturday night after a party, get excited and put your youth pull on transfer wire right away . . . even though I know you do your pull on Sunday because that's what you must be doing if you're being daytraded.
At least that's what I can glean from what experts say. I'll be glad to educate you more as I learn them myself.

Well numero uno candidate is gone. STupid Aussies outbidding me while I'm sleeping. :p Now I have one to go, trying to figure out if I'll be at school when it ends, but I'll probably get outbid on him too. Why do all the guys I want to buy end at weird times? :( ;)

People will bid up ridiculously for wingbacks for some odd reason. What are you trying to improve with this wingback upgrade you're looking at?

You aren't being a true HT addict unless you aren't willing to set your alarm for 4:00 AM to get a player you really want.

Number two is no more too. :( Stupid school.
I'm hoping to improve my defense, plus my current wingback has been sucking it up, and his form hasn't been improving. Luckily my B teamer can step up becausd of his form, but not sure how long it'll go.

Luckily my B teamer can step up becausd of his form, but not sure how long it'll go.Have you consider investing in a goalkeeper instead? I mean, that won't help the situation with your current wingback's form but it'll be a more effective way to improve your defense overall. As for getting a new wingback, I'd seriously consider just taking the best defender in the price range you want to spend on and play him defensively. You'll gain more offense through upgrading your winger and just leaving your wingback to play defensively than trying to fight it out for an offensive wingback.

I was thinking about a keeper, but I've seen formidables who put up the same amount of stars as my solid, and since I don't really know the going rate, I don't want to over-pay.

True. I'm fighting that right now. I don't know what the "average" going rate is so I keep being afraid to pull the trigger.

I love watching Day Traders get screwed. I bought 2 solid wingers for the amazing price of $25K each, I held onto both for half a season before finally thowing one on the market to check the interest in him....He went for $85K. A day trader picked him and put him on the market AT LEAST 8 times, starting at $125K, before he went for the wonderful price of $95K.
I made about $60K off of him, while the daytrader lost money because he ended up putting him on the market so much.

1/5/2004 Gained money for a player that has previously belonged to the club: 84 150 US$
It's great when people sell players that you've trained months in the past...
