Using only two 2's and any combination of mathematical signs, symbols and functions can you make 5?
note--this is just a math problem; no language tricks or things of that nature.

2+2=5
you didn't say the answer had to be correct

Ooops, it says only two 2's. Never mind.

This is, I suppose, a hint, but one thing I want to clarify. In your answer, it is permissible to use the symbol - in front of a two to make it -2.
No other numbers are used. Only math symbols.

2 squared plus the square root of 2 is something like 5.41.
It's almost 5!

Could I use (22-2)/(2*2) ?
Edit: Nevermind. Two 2's only.

grrrr
2^2 =4
2^(-2) = .25
.2^2= .004
.2^(-2)=25

.2^(-2)=25
take the square root of that, and you get 5, right?

sqrt(.2^(-2)) = 5
Good one.

even though technically, the square root is a ^1/2, so you are not using only two 2's

I thought of a different one during my class: [(sqrt(22))]
