Ok, now that I've come to realize that TPF is a joke, I still have this fix for multiplayer football. I own FoF2, FOF2002 (the EA version), and TCY, so I don't want FOF4 just for offline, I want multiplayer. How is the multiplayer in FOF4. I've heard a few things about there being problems, is this the case? Are they easily remidied? Is it difficult to run - similar to OOTP3 or what?

Any help is appreciated.

there is no multiplayer for FOF 4, there is multiplayer for FOF 2004.

It is not as polished from a MP perspective as OOTP is...but it is certainly playable as a number of leagues have gotten started. I think that since this is Jim's first-crack at MP and that he is allegedly going to be IN a MP league, that this feature of the game will probably only get better.

There are a numbe rof utilities already in existence that help with MP - including Fido's html generator and some great gameplanning assitants.

FOF2004 is the first multiplayer game of any kind that I've ever played, and I'm generally happy with it. I does seem a bit rudimentary and I'm sure it will become a lot better in the next version. My main gripe is that you cannot "watch" your multiplayer games on the scoreboard like you can with solo games. You send in the game files each week and get back the results in the form of box scores, game logs, and accumulated stats. The FOF viewer by 3ric is a huge help (it allows you to watch the game logs in scoreboard format), but the game logs just don't provide you with enough information (such as the offensive and defensive formations for each play). Consequently, you spend a bunch of time developing game plans, but you never get to see the game plan in action; you only get the results. Nevertheless, IMO FOF multiplayer is fun and I'm really looking forward to when the league that I'm in gets to free agency and the draft. I think that's when you really get something you just can't get playing solo.

I can't wait for our IHOF multiplayer league to start, I've bought FOF2004 for that purpose basically.
I was still all fine with FOF2 for solo mode.

I'm wondering why you think TPF is a joke, I just played with the demo and didn't see anyting terribly bad about the game. I'm curious.

Apparently the game has improved much since the intial release, but the career statistics are way out of line. Check out this thread
