Well.... im gonna be promoting a player to a coach within the next 3-6 weeks depending on money and i've been debating on what kinda coach to go with. I have a attacking coach now and he works pretty well, but i''ve been wondering how 1 of the other coaches would do with my team.
Actually the only other 1 im considering is a "Neither attacking nor defensive" coach. A defesnive coach in a 3-5-2 makes it very very hard to generate a good offense....look at the landfills for an example. 12 million dollars worth of forwards and only a World Class central attack.
Since "Balanced" coaches are so new its been very hard to find a team close to my talent level that uses one. Onion Patch in div. III uses one but i think he just got his and its hard to tell the effect since his team is so much better then mine. I also know DK uses one and he seems to generate a pretty decent attack when he's in good form.
I also saw that fellow FOFC'er BoB just started using a "balanced" coach and i'd like to get his opinion on it. His ratings look pretty good and he seems to have around the same skill level of players that i do.
Also, if anyone else out there has a "Balanced" coach or knows someone who does please respond and tell me what ya think and how your ratings have been effected.
Thanks! :)

I switched from Attack minded to a neutral coach, and I'm really happy about it. Before buying my Excellent scorer, I had a 3-5-2 with a passable/passable and solid/passable forwards, both good for 2.5 stars each, and would get Excellent Attack ratings with the attack minded coach. At the same time, my all-solid backfield (including solid keeper) would top out at Solid, with maybe an excellent if I had good form.
Once I switched to a neutral coach, I achieved Excellent ratings accross the defensive front, and stayed at Solid in the attack area, with an occasional excellent. Now that I have Ulf, the Excellent scorer, I can get Formidable attacks if I overload one side.
I like having the balance much better.

I think either would actually work very well with your team.
going by your last ratings, and the one before to get a normal attack.
with an offensive coach you'd have:
right D: excellent
central D: outstanding
left D: excellent
right A: outstanding
central A: formidable
left A: formidable
with a neutral coach: (using Vinces difference of +1 D, -1 A)
right D: formidable
central D: brilliant
left D: formidable
right A: formidable
central A: excellent
left A: excellent
either way it's still a solid team. It's almost tailored to which part of your team you think you'll upgrade next.

I'd have to look, but now that I re-read my post, I think I'm wrong.
I think an offensive coach depresses the defensive ratings more than just one rating, while only boosting the offense by about one rating. I'll have to dig up my old ratings to see my defense pre-neutral coach...

Thats about what i was expecting aswell Panther. Since i played "Attack down the middle" in my first game with my new goalie my wing defenses were weakened. I think with my entire defense and goalie in decent form i should get a outstanding/outstanding/outstanding across the back with a formidable or brilliant thrown in there depending on form and if i play a wingback normal with a balanced coach.
Hopfully i can get a few more examples of balanced coaches before i try it out. But if not, Masked came up with a great idea when we chatted about different coaches. I could kinda "test" a balanced coach before i make my player into a coach buy buying a "weak" balanced coach for like 10k and keeping him for only my league game, then promote my player into a coach before the training update so i don't lose any training.

I'm happy with my neutral coach, however because of the lack of importance of defense I might change in the future to an offensive coach.

I will get to DIV when I am ready. If I didn't have to answer questions daily about whether your poor keeper is better than a weak one you are looking to buy, I might be able to focus better.
I got nothing.

I don't think you want to discuss keepers.
BTW, when is our friendly played with starters going to be...I'm sure you're out of the FOFC cup soon.

I don't know what to say, except that I went to school 80 miles away and in a different state from you.

Well 80 miles may be a long ways for you, but some guys are real men...I think.
Sure, blame the young guy... :)
P.S. Don't fire me.
