With the ongoing football draft and baseball auction, I wonder if there are enough people interested in doing a similar thing for hockey.

Any ideas of what to do are welcome...

I'll probably be up for it, but I don't want to run it. Also, I'm wondering if it might be better to hold off a week or two until the baseball is done, so we can see any problems or issues that come up.

I would have no problems running it, and it wouldn't be starting right away, so I would be willing to hold off.

I think hockey will be MUCH MUCH tougher than baseball and be tougher than football. Baseball is easy, it's a numbers game. Football, you need to think about some other things (leadership, etc...). Hockey there's defense, faceoffs, toughness, being clutch, etc... should be fun!

Any ideas how we should do it?

Should we field full teams? (4 lines, 3 defence pairings, 2 goalies and a coach) or go with maybe 1 goalie, 4 d-men and 6 forwards... either way is good with me, just wondering what the concensus thinks. Again, there is no hurry to start, just trying to get an idea down.

I think 1 G, 4 D, 6 F is good. 11 rounds is a good amount and that will be your top 2 lines.

I'd like to see the full complement... 4 lines, 6 d, 2 (or 3) goalies and a coach... more than enough great players to do that! Heck, maybe someone would even pick up my man Probert then!!

I would be in (just to kick bbor's ass), but I really wouldn't know who to pick aside from Gretzky. The sad part is that I'm still kicking his ass in Fantasy Hockey... :D

My preference is 12F, 6D, 2G and a coach.

I'll try my hand. I think 6 F and 4 D 1 G and 1 Coach is best, but it depends on how many teams.

The problem with less than a full lineup is that there's then no need for a checking line or grinding line. With only 6 forwards, is anyone really going to take a checker or enforcer?

Are we aiming to get this thing off after the SuperBowl or after the other All-Time threads are finished?

I think it will wait until at least after the SuperBowl for sure, since I'm pretty busy until then.
