You can trade them from the team that signed them to the team that was supposed to have them.

It's possible I'm misunderstanding the question, but in the IHOF we are emailing offers to VPI97 who post a list of who's allowed to sign who. We match that offer in-game and do the export. It's a bit of hard work for the commish who has to put together all the offers - one or two owners submitted 75 names on conditional basis (!) but it seems to work OK.

There's no way (that I have been able to find) to assign FA's to teams...like 3ric said, we do our in-season FA bidding outside of the game, so I just have to make sure each export contains only those FA bids that have been approved.

A) always backup you league folder
b) When you run an import, check all the signings out to make sure they are valid.
c) If someon has ffered a FA when they're not supposed to, remove that export, contact the person, and restore your backup until that person comes back with a correct export.

As mentioned above, if a team claims a FA they were not supposed to, you can trade that player to the proper team.

If the owner that was supposed to get him balks at that contract, you can make the guy that got him release him and accept whatever cap hit. If he refuses, you can do an 'enter new league' as his team, make sure the latest export is in the leagues folder, and cut the guy from his team for him.

Lots of ways to deal if the player ended up on the wrong team. If he is still a FA, nothing I am aware of that you can do.

again, ugh.....

Im crossing my fingers in the hopes that Jim will address this in C. I simply cannot do this for my time sake, sanity sake, and for the accuracy of the week. Talk about running into speed bumps each week, each stage for that matter. unfortunately i pray that this is fixed by the next FA period (offseason)....although maybe this wont effect the offseason FA PEriod. does it?
