View Full Version : A couple of year end questions

1) The Hattrick rules in all their glory state:
"In between seasons, most psychological effects are "wiped", putting the teams psychological status back to "normal".
I believe "wiping to normal" means TS goes to composed, and the fans and supporters go to calm or content (not sure which, but it doesn't matter, I suppose since we all get the same)
What psychological effects aren't "wiped?"
2) What happens to the level of Sponsor income? Does it stay at its year end level, and then rise or fall with your results on the pitch the following year? Mine has only gone up, what with only winning, so I'm not aware of evil fluctuations.

1. Team Spirit, Team Confidence, Supporter Mood, and Sponsor Mood all get set back to the default.
2. The income change will depend on what you were getting at the end of the previous season. If your supporter and sponsor moods were bad, then the money will go up, if it was good, the money will go down.
The amount of money you get will be based on your supporter size and the moods at their current level, and what level division you are in i think.

The income will drop significantly with the start of the season. You have 10 spokepersons on staff for at least the first 4 weeks of the new season, as that is when the money will start coming back...

It might be the right time to dig around and bump the thread containing your study on that subject, Frogman.

Specifically, the update you have to be worried about is the one occuring on February 21. From my excel spreadsheet, this is when the moods will reset, thus dropping your sponsors from their current "Dancing in the Streets" or "High on life" to the middle of the road "composed" or something like that.
So, on the week from Feb. 15 to Feb. 20, you should hire enough spokies to bring your total to 10. Yeah, it's a steep expense for a newer team, but it's worth it, believe me...
As in seasons past, I will post my usual offseason schedule of important dates in the next few days...

edit: to remove the dola, that was ruined by a cousin flying frog :p

While looking at my dates, this is not right. The "evil" update will be on February 28th... I will post and sticky my offseason schedule over lunch...

Have we ever come up with a solid strategy for when exactly to start dropping spokespersons? I just ended up keeping 10 all year out of laziness, but that's costing me money, I'm sure. :)

I came to the conclusiont hat for long term reason, it was better to keep all of the 10 on board. Your sponsor money never drops, and you get more new supporters per update that way...

Excellent! That fits in with my lazy strategy perfectly. ;)

someone figured it up, and by using the "firing 1 spokesperson a week" strategy only saved you like 45k for the year. plus it does affect the number of people that join your supporter club. they convinced me to do the "lazy strategy" and just always have 10 spokespersons. works great for me so far :) but im too lazy to complain anyway.

I've been wondering about the optimum number of those dudes. I've been carrying 3 and seeing 24 new supporters each week, 12 after every game. Twice I got 13, but its leveled off at 12.
My sponsor income has been growing at a declining rate and last week went up only $990. So I figured a new spokesbroad at $1500 would be a loser. Sponsors are, and have been for weeks, delirious while supporters are HoL.
