There are ten colors listed below in alphabetical order. I have randomly mixed their order and placed them in a vertical list numbered 1-10, top to bottom. The object of the game is to be the first to list them in their correct order. To obtain clues, you may ask each color any question, one at a time (one per post, and you may not post questions back to back). The catch is that each color may lie ONCE (for the whole game). Proceed.

That's a big negative.

So, at least one of the two-part answer from 11:03 must be a lie - since they are inconsistent.
It would make the game easier, but violate the concept a bit, if we asked all our questions to the same color.

Blue's answer at 11:04 is tied to the Green 11:03 answer. They are both either lying or telling the truth.

Okay, let's try it again, only making it illegal to ask a color what the order is. I need an exact wording of that rule, however, to cover it.

Let's go Yes or No.
Sorry I broke the game. I only intended to get Green to lie, and then I was going to ask real questions.

Not only yes/no but that a color can lie more than once. Otherwise we would just be throwing up lists at random and asking if this is correct or not.

How about certain colors always lie (odd numbered ones?) and certain ones always tell the truth?

I was wondering why you didn't start a new thread for the 2nd game....
Also, I was following the rules, so I couldn't post two questions in a row.

I like the general idea, but agree that it needs a tweak.
I think the weak element right now is that there's no incentive to ask questions of multiple colors, sicne they all seem omniscient. If the questioners just agreed on one color, they could really minimize the lying aspect of the game.
One idea, though this might sent things in a different direction that you had originally intended: how about if each color can only see who is ahead of them and behind them in line - and doesn't know what spot they are in unless it's first or last.
That would limit the questions to things like: "Blue, can you see green?" and "Yellow, are you either first or last in line?" That would wipe out completely the sweeping questions, and would also force us to use numerous different colors as targets of questions.
A separate thought: In lots of logic games, they separate people into "tribes" that have certain truth/lie patterns. The most common is three variants: always truthful, always lying, and alternating back and forth. It's possible that assigning a pre-defined number of each of thse to the colors would be an interesting twist (rather than the more or less random single lie idea)
Feel free to use either idea as you see fit.
