Korean scientist have cloned a human embryo for research purposes. But the korean media embarassed themselves by breaking some reporting embargo setup by Science magazine and the American Association Scientific Research as had been agreed upon so as to check if this was true or not.If you don't remember a few years ago some Korean scientists had claimed to of found a cure for AIDS and cancer but it turned out to be a hoax after the korean media reported it as fact. I am not sure if anyone has put up a thread on this but here's a link to the story:

You mean like when I'm really exhausted and I need a day at the spa, I can send my clone to work?

I agree. The Human Genome Project has my full support. I get excited when they and others release snippets of what they are doing.

I am not a big fan of actual cloning of humans, but the possibilities of gene-therapy and organ breeding is definitely worthwhile.

I wish they clone William Hung 5 more times and they could go on tour as the William Hung 6.

They can't be serious...

"Woo Suk Hwang, lead author of the study, admitted at a news conference that the technique developed in his lab "cannot be separated from reproductive cloning" and called on every country to prevent the use of the technology in that way."
