I am wondering what people think about TPF now that it's up to version 3.9 and about to go to 4.0 Some of those fixes will include:player development, boom/busts, late-game AI (esp FGs) and some enhancements in the trade AI (spec for trading for future No. 1 picks).
I think there maybe a problem with punt return stats being inflated if you play the games out yourself. It seems I get realistic stats when I simulate. This is an obvious problem I have found. I am curois to see what others think about it now that it's had a chance to grow a little, and rid itself of some nast bugs and so forth.

It has been a few versions since I've played it at all. I'm planning on giving it a fresh look with 1.40.

I'd love to hear opinions too. I'm still tempted to buy this game.

I just started playing again...and I'm friggin' addicted!!! Stayed up 'til 3am the last 3 nights playing. I just love the offseason. The draft is just so engrossing that I can't stop. And then when it's over I always say that I'll hit the sac but can't help but sim a couple pre-season games and before I know it...I'm halfway through another season.
I've still run into a couple of fatal exceptions...but, now I've learned to save and save often...it only takes 5 seconds.
I like the fact that the AI controlled teams offer you trades during the draft to move up...but, they only offer picks...no players. Would be nice to see players involved from time to time. The trading AI seems pretty good...although I haven't tried to totally rip off the computer...they seem to be pretty stingy with their first rounders...especially the early ones...IMHO anyways.
Again...I just love the draft!!!

I'm curious as to what changes are being implemented in 1.40 myself. It's been on the shelf for me so far...hopefully, this'll iron out whatever major kinks there may be.

The game is tighter overall. It's not perfect as far as gameplanning, play by play, or stats(although they are much better). It excels in GM functions. Teams do a very realistic job of managing the cap and acessing needs. I'd say if the "gameplay issues" get ironed out and are better in TPF2, I think you're looking at the Football sim of the future.

Well, until that 1.40 patch comes out...I'll continue playing my FOF2K4 dynasty. Of course, I'm probably candidate for worst GM ever. ;)
