View Full Version : Simulating lots of seasons

I've looked for an answer to this and not found it (probably some error on my part) . I see lots of people talk about simulating a bunch of seasons to give a fictional league some history. My question is how you then "start playing for real?" Do you just blast through a bunch of season letting the computer do everything and then start (I don't think this is it), or do you take and somehow transfer the "history" league into a draft to start your "real" league. Also, is there an easy way to quickly simulate an arbitrary number of seasons? Thanks very much.
p.s. I know there are utillities for tweaking things, but I really was curious about how to do this without outside tools.

You have to "take part" and own a team and bid on FA, etc in order to have this league history the game will not allow you to just sim through a bunch of seasons then jump in.

The best way I know of to do this is to move quickly through the seasons, pressing buttons and letting the computer make all the decisions. It's incredibly tedious - especially after the first few seasons - but it will give you what you want.
As FBPro said, you have to take control of a team at the start in order to do this. Their record might not be very good once you're finished simming, so you might want to turn the hire/fire option off (or hit the button that says "I'm a dictator and I refuse to be fired").
