View Full Version : OT: What is this crap on ESPN!?

I turn on ESPN and notice that they are having a court hearing about the Yankees.

What the hell is this? This is the dumbest thing they have aired since dream job. I didn't hear of a sweeps week. Talk about corny as hell.

Oh, and by the way, Joe Brown called, he wants his prop set back.

 X 1000

We all know the Yankees are a bunch of pricks and shouldn't be allowed to do what they do but they can so they do. Very few non-Yankees fans with disagree and no show on ESPN is going to be compelling either way.

Actually, I just want them to show more hockey playoffs.

Kind of cool... like the Pete Rose trial.

I couldn't agree more. Thank god BC and Maine are on ESPN2.

So if the Yankees lose this "case", does that mean all the players get put into a pool to get drafted this year?

That would be cool.

maybe they'll do an OJ trial someday.

This is more entertaining than the hockey playoffs. I can't wait for the NHL to fold.

hehehe...yeah, I don't get it.

How can you cancel Playmakers and show this. Like all the lawyers on there haven't got enough money and notoriety?

Ok..seriously though, its a nice play on the popularity of court tv type stuff. I don't have ESPN2 in the hinterland and I wanna see more hockey. Maybe when the NHL implodes, Canada will get its sport back.

That'd be nice.

Yep.. I'd like to see a Sport Court series with 'trials' over big questions. Perhaps the next one can be whether the salary cap and free agency has been good for the NFL or something.

I think there is a place for this "genre" on ESPN, but this Yankees trial is ridiculous. It's all aboot opinion - the Pete Rose thing had facts. I'd love to watch the MLBPA get killed in a trial on steroid usage.

So, watching this, you think Jim Bowden is campaigning to be the next Yankees GM. The only thing else he can do more is lick Steinbrenner's ass.

the Pete Rose thing had facts.
Uh huh, you talking about the facts that could not be held up in the court of law or the facts in the court of public perception?

That would be very interesting and something I would watch.

For all the people who want the NHL to fold, I want all of your favorite things to just disappear. Your favorite foods, your favorite TV shows, your favorite holiday. All of it. Then I want you to spend the rest of your lives in a single cardboard box that only serves the purpose of being a spectacle for Japanese tourists to photograph.

Thanks, I'll be driving through now.

Many of our "favorite" things are necessities in life, the NHL is just an ugly spectator sport. :D

Pumpy, I would submit that substituting NHL with NBA would be a better fit. Happy now? :)

Yes, the NBA is a joke, although I will always watch the last 3 minutes of a Grizzlies game if I have the opportunity. Thanks!

I'm probably just a little bitter because I'm currently watching the Devils lose in Philadelphia. I need a comeback!

They're just all mad because we don't stay in our own little thread just like whenever there's an NBA thread on the board and there's a hundred "NBA sucks" posts in it. :p

They did, and he was acquitted. Where have you been?

No, he was the consequence of a bad defense, an egomaniac judge and a really ignorant jury with the attention span and intelligence of a gnat's fart. :D

Patience, patience. When he and Inspector Gadget find the REAL killer, then justice will be served. HUZZAH!

Why doesn't espn have channels that show nothing but.....sports. I can watch just about any sport and enjoy it(although i don't like having kids on the tv). I get espnnews, espn, and espn2 and when i have a game show(espn), talkshow(epsn2) and an infomerical for a talkshow that will be on later (espnnews). I shut the tv off and go to the internet for actual sport coverage. I think its a freaking disgrace.
