Declare Iran a member of the so-called "Axis of Evil"? Check.
Give them grief over their nuclear program and all but accuse them of lying about the purpose of their pursuit of nuclear technology? Check.
Ask Iranian leadership to step in and help defuse the current level of violence in Iraq? Beautiful.
Now, I'll be the first to admit that I think Bush is right about Iran. I don't think their intentions are pure, and I'm sure they ARE covertly trying to acquire ABC weapons (but primarily atomics). But at the same time...isn't that on the same level as just absolutely ripping your opponent to shreds during primaries, and then saying "This man is what America needs, and I want him to be my Vice President"?
Whether it's sincere or not, it still looks very strange, and I'm forced to wonder just what Iran's incentive is to bother pitching in at all.
