Got a question for thos of you who may know...

My opponent this week is not very active. Last login was March 27 and he has not booked a friendly since being booted out of the cup in round 2.

Last week, his best player got a red card, so he is suspended for our upcoming match this week. I don't expect the owner to log in this before the game to change his lineup, so here's my question: what happens when you leave a suspended player in your lineup?

In my mind, two things could happen:
1) the player is not replaced and the team starts and plays the whole game with 10 players on the field
2) the player is replaced by his substute and the game goes on...

I think #1 is the answer, as opposed to when you have an injured player in there, where #2 would happen...

Here's the funny thin too, this suspended player is a defender, and in his last match, my opponent didn't even have a sub set at defender :)

Not that I think it will matter, as this team has pulled a high NSI ever of 32, WITH their top player in the lineup :) I'm just curious as to what will happen...

Anybody has a clue? Maybe from personal experience...

I believe that he is not replaced....I remember reading somewhere that they let you put carded players into lineups to "trick" you and let you suffer the consequences...

Let us know how it turns out...

I believe he is replaced, or at least an injured player is replaced I know for sure. They may handle carded players differently though.

i think he will be replaced, but if there is no substitute in the defender slot, then their will be no one to replace him and they will play with 10.

I thought he wasn't replaced, and I think the same thing holds for injured players. HT does this so you pay attention to your team. Apoc posted in a thread I asked about it, I'll dig it up.

Ill do the red card question first. They want people too be at least somewhat knowledgable about their players. If your player has a red card he cant play they dont want to spoon feed it to you.
EDIT #2 - I'm not sure that thread actually deals with the question at hand, but in this one http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showthread.php?t=18850&highlight=purple+pirates I had substitutes for injured players but they didn't replace the injured players.

I know, when I had two defenders go down with injuries, it just put next available player to play defender, i.e. MF

yeah.. you usually hear of this as it screws up someone's training.

but the question is what happens if you put a suspended player in your competitive match's starting lineup.
