he over took your team leader, and now instead of having a popular or sympathetic leader you now have a pleasant one.

i dont think it has to do with overtaking a team leader. every player has a chance of getting off to a bad start and lowering TS. the worse agreeability, the better the chance of the event happening. from what i understand, this was added to help deter daytrading to some extent a few seasons ago.

Either that or the rest of your team is a bunch of nasty mo-fo's and didn't like the fact that you brought in a goody-two-shoes leader.

well I have a true clown so I know he isn't the new team leader. Most of my team is agreeable so I don't think they are thugs :)
Didn't know that about the every player has a chance to get off to a bad start thing. Figrued it'd happen to my backup goalie (sold my goalie trainee since I switched to PM training) when I just got 4 IM trainees and it didn't happen with any of them.

You can't knw for sure that you have a true clown. There are different levels of solid leadership, like low solid, mid solid, high solid... Your new player could be high solid and your clown could be low solid, thus not being your team leader anymore...

I agree and for you, it's not like you have a popular and a nasty player that are both solid in leadership...

Once again, I'm confuzzzled by the Hattrick rules. I've been looking for the TS implication of transfers, but can't find it anywhere. So perhaps what I'm thinking of is Hattrick Legend, rather than written:
I thought only Nasty or Controversial players caused a conflict when they arrived. That's what's happened to me, and I thought I'd seen that written down somewhere. OTOH, sale of a popular player would cause a drop.
Where is this explained in the rules?

that's what I thought, hence my confusion when he got off to a bad start. of course I'm still recovering TS wise from a MOTS 2 weeks ago so it's not like I was high on life or anything anyways.

Anybody can cause conflict when they arrive, it's just that the people with worse disposition have a higher odd of doing so.
Sale of positive disposition players could definitely cause a drop. In the cases I've had that happen to my team, it's mainly been with players who have been around for awhile. I don't know (and have never seen it written) whether that's really a requirement or not, though.

From section 21 (Transfer), under "Selling":A sell of a player after his first six days from his being pulled from a youth squad may result in a team spirit loss.Under "Buying":Also, when you win a bid, if the new player does not get along with his teammates, you may see team spirit decrease. At a glance, I can find no mention of the fact that a less agreeable player have a higher chance of causing conflict. I think I merely got that from various discussions, so no "official confirmation" via the Rules page. In fact, agreeabilities and personalities is not given much attention at all (beyond the brief "Team Leader" and likelihood of bookings mentions in section 19, Psychology).

My short experience leads me to believe that the more disagreeable players are more likely to cause problems. But who really knows?

you have to be kidding me...
newly purchased player:
A controversial person who is calm and honest.
Has disastrous experience and weak leadership abilities.
current team leader:
A sympathetic guy who is balanced and dishonest.
Has passable experience and solid leadership abilities.
now, nevermind the controversial aspect, tell me how he is the team leader?
oh, yes, i am waiting for the guy to pop to solid...

The solid leadership player is your team leader. It is always the player with the highest leadership.

Thanks. That's likely how I got my impressions of the buying\selling effects on TS, too.
I wonder when the HT gods will get around to updating the rules for the missing pieces and the many wrong\misleading statements? Have there been any updates to the rules since the rest of y'all have been playing?

I wonder when the HT gods will get around to updating the rules for the missing pieces and the many wrong\misleading statements? Have there been any updates to the rules since the rest of y'all have been playing?I've seen updates occasionally. When I started, the information for various positions and their contributions made no mention of wingback's contribution to midfield. I only found out through -Panther pointing it out since it was in the Rules by the time he'd started. Also, when I started, the chart for who gets training did not mention explicitly that EVERYBODY got training (it just happens to be an extremely small amount for players who did not play in the relevant position). It was added later on. I'm not sure what other changes have been made, though it'd be nice to have the changes highlighted (or at least in different colours) for a time.
