What is interesting, is why Joe wasn't mentioned. I wonder if he is going to talk about the accusations against him. If it was me, I sure would be. Edit: Added:
I wish someone would talk about it over there. I am confused about it as much as anyone else. :(

I would like to talk with William, that should be pretty cool. I watched him play in Philly for a long time.
Do you guys usually watch the draft or read about it that night, watch ESPN etc?

I would doubt they would take a TPF developers chat and a chance to talk football with an All Pro and turn it into some kind of drama-fest.

Sorry, been in my own little world lately and haven't noticed if there was another thread about this.

hey eaglesfans you guys remember willey-t in philly. He was a rookie the year that gang green was the stuff. When cunningham went down in the first game and we had great qb's like david archer I think and Pat Ryan. McMahon was fine when he wasn't hurt... What a year for defense back then..

Hiya
I will gladly post pertinent information about our games in the future, if you like. I certainly did not intend on rubbing anyone the wrong way by inviting you to a chat.
I heard a rumor you were football fans; ;) Having William Thomas, with an eleven year professional NFL career, on hand to drill with questions, live during the NFL draft, along with a talented football simulation programmer suggests excellent reasons to invite folks.
Again, I hope to see you all there.

Im definitely going to be there. I watch the entire draft every year and love it. If Arlie and Willie T aren't enough for you to come, me being there should be the clincher :)
As for Clover, she is a very nice and respectable person. I thought she went about inviting everyone in a proper way and don't understand why people would have any problems with asking if people wanted to join a chat, 1st post or not.

I would like to second questioning just what was wrong with her first post, and also wondering what specific shenanigans are being pointed at 400 SS.
First of all, this is a sim football forum. It's an obvious place to put a post like that, whether it's a first time poster or an October 2001 veteran.
Second, I for one appreciate the notice. I don't know if I can get up early ernough (not a morning person), but I think it's pretty cool to have both Arlie and William Thomas there, with the draft going on as well. If I manage to get up for it, I plan on being there. And I wouldn't have even found out about it unless Clover posted here. So what's the big deal?
As for the shenanigans, heck, I just don't even know what happened (or what happened with Joe). Anyone wanna enlighten me? I have had some issues at points with 400 SS's approach on some things, but nothing that would lead me to make it a point to everyone here that I won't be at a draft get-together.

Thats just how many of the people at FOFC are. Instead of simply responding, it turns into a contest of who can make the most arrogant, "witty" or demeaning post.

Dola: Just to back up my statement, if EA sports had a paid employee whose only job is to advertise promotions on message boards, I don't think they would be welcomed on this board either.
I mean, EA does (Kodos) but at least he also post many other annoying things. :)

1. Coming into a thread, making a months-old, unrelated-to-the-topic-at-hand accusation.
2. Finding out that the person whom you accused has cold, hard evidence that your accusation has no merit.
3. Being called out for having done a 100% flip-flop on the matter.
4. Claiming NOT to have flip-flopped, and telling a flat-out lie to support your claim.
5. Having your flat-out lie exposed: http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/~fof/forums/showpost.php?p=439872&postcount=37
6. Giving no response whatsoever when exposed until....
7. Showing back up for no reason but to try to cause conflict.
Poor, poor form.
EDIT: I have done everything I can to try to create an amenable relationship between FOFC and 400. I try to stay in as much commication as I can with Joe and Arlie to try to smooth over difficulties. But somehow this one .400 representative (markprior22) wants to stir up fights. I really don't get it.

Guys, I personally (and as a main rep from .400) have no problem with this forum and have always felt it's a valuable asset to the sports sim community. I asked Tara to make this post on our behalf, but maybe I should have made it instead given the reaction and the fact this was her first post on the board (to eliminate the spam argument). Tara has set all this up and done a great job with it though, and I expect she will be making many more posts on this forum as time passes.
So, we invite you guys to come and chat with William Thomas and myself during the draft. It should be a lot of fun and I know both William and myself are looking forward to it.

Skydog...point taken. You are absolutely right on the TPF deal...I was completely out of line making that comment. BUT...Other than participating in a beta, I am in no way connected with .400. I own and play FOF2004, TCY, OOTP6, Puresim 2K4 beta, TPF, TDCB and TPB (basically all the sports sims out there). I didn't "show up just to cause conflict". I look at this board several times a day. I couldn't help but notice (as did several others), the crappy response to Tara's post.
Tell you what...I'll try very hard not to post here anymore. Again, I was completely wrong in the TPF deal. I just get frustrated because the FOF developer is hardly ever willing to be online to discuss things with the community in general. When other developers make themselves accessible, they are absolutely hammered (probably why Jim chooses to go this route).

2. I just assumed you were directly connected with .400 because you list it as your home page in your profile. My bad on that one.
3. Keep in mind that one person getting hacked off doesn't represent "FOFC" as a whole. This isn't the first time that the community as a whole has been indicted for one (or a small group's) opinion.

Again, I'd like to ask (as I did with Joe), that people connected to .400 Studios (perceived connection or paid connection) kindly refrain from bringing my name into discussions where it's completely irrelevant.
I am very accessible. I respond to email, I'm often on this forum and post semi-regularly. This myth that I'm largely absent from the community was clearly drummed up by someone with an agenda (as we've already seen with Jason K and "reviews"). I'm not hammered here at all - I'm just not someone who naturally has a high post count.
I don't know what the hell has been going on with .400, but it has to stop. Success in this field benefits everyone in the genre, it does not come at the expense of someone else. Every other developer out there seems to understand that.

Jim:
I can understand your frustration with this kind of thing, but the only connection Mark has with .400 is he set his home page in the system to it. Joe and crew have NOTHING to do with it, and have no way to control people like markprior22.
Copying SkyDog's note earlier:
3. Keep in mind that one person getting hacked off doesn't represent "FOFC" as a whole. This isn't the first time that the community as a whole has been indicted for one (or a small group's) opinion.
Same kinda applies here Don't hold .400/Joe/Arlie/et al responsible for one idiot's (foolish) opinion, especially as he has no connection with them except for being a fan of their game

Jim, I would like to point out one thing if I may. I did not review your game in poor fashion, nor any other review. I did argue with people on the boards and put down your game on message boards, because I was defending TPF. For that I was wrong, but I had no agenda when I wrote your FOF review and I would like to point out, it is still one of the highest reviews you have received. Anyway as for the past, again I tell you I'm sorry.
Can we get back on track and figure out who wants to come talk some draft day football on saturday?

Someone fill me in on what happened...Druez accused Joe Stallings of asking him to write bad reviews of games that are in direct competition of .400ss. Joe denies it, Druez says he has proof. It is then revealed that Druez worked for .400ss and now isn't, but his wife is. Druez still says he has proof, Joe doesn't deny it, but says his lawyer will handle it. Druez claims no contact from a lawyer and oddly enough very few people from .400ss come out to Joe's defense(Maybe he doesn't want them too or is advising them not to do so because of his lawyer or something).
Then Jesus appeared and made the bad people stop.
