Does anyone else get nervous before going out of town for vacation? It's killing me!

Nope, I leave on the 29th for vacation to Memphis. I will be there until the 5th.
I get to check out the Beale Street Music Festival. One thing I am trying to do is lineup Job Interviews for while I am out there.
I want to move back!

Oddly enough, I guess I do.
I leave for Las Vegas tomorrow morning & return late Thursday.
There's nowhere on earth I'd rather be going, so I'm reasonably excited.
But ... between worrying about everything I need to make sure I get done before bright & early Saturday morning, everything that I have to remember, everything that could screw me up (busted alarm clock, flat tire on the way to the airport, etc.), everything that might happen while I'm away from work and/or home, and the inevitable missing my wife & son ... well, doggone it, it's got me twisting my hair more than a little bit.
So yeah, I guess "nervous" would qualify.

That's exactly the sort of stuff I'm worried about. It seems so silly.

When you start to travel a bunch for work, you stop having these kinds of worries. I used to do the same thing before a trip. Then I realized as long as I have a passport and a credit card, anything can be overcome :)

Sounds fun, I was just there over Easter. They're really doing some good things in renovating downtown, that new Redbirds ballpark is nice and one the Fedex Forum is finished that will only speed up the process!

I was there the week before. The best thing about the trip was leaving. You would have to put a gun to my head to get me to move back there.
Then again, there is a good chance of a gun being put to your head while you are there...

Downtown? yes, I could see that. My family lives closer to the Germantown side, and have been there for a while. Most of us tend to stay away from the problem places. However, my favorite bar out there is downtown.
The Redbirds ballpark is definately a site to hold, and with some of the newer stuff out there, it's pretty cool.

Ahhhh...it went very well.
If anyone is considering going on a vacation this summer and hasn't decided on what to do, I highly recommend Carnival Cruises. Just bring a credit card with lots of room on it! :)

Memphis haters :)
I love the town, but I stick mainly to suburbs.

My wife is from Memphis. I've only been there twice, so I can't say that I know the area at all, but she lived a couple of minutes from the University of Memphis. Anyway, I don't think she's too fond of Germantown, but after having been through Germantown myself while I was there, I can understand it. It was a little too "uppity" for me. What's up with the sign laws? There's a maximum distance off the ground, and they all have to be that drab brown color?
I guess I'm just too used to New Orleans.

Germantown is not too bad. I have seen more upscale cities. The traffic is horrible though. I do not know much about the sign laws and such.
My family actually owns several houses out by the Univeristy of Memphis. That area is still pretty good. There is not too much crime although you do hear of some here and there.
There is some safe places to live in dowtown now. There is a housing area over by Mud Island that is pretty nice but the name escpaes me.
I guess if I had to choose an are to live in I would probably go with downtown. Everything is happening down there and I think it is pretty safe.
If I had to live in the suburbs I would choose Desoto County, but I am biased.
