April 05, 2004 - Sony Computer entertainment Europe and Namco have announced that Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War will be coming out early next year, in the first quarter of 2005. Like previous entries in the series, Ace Combat 5 will feature dozens of licensed planes. The missions involve flying through canyons, mountain passes, and in and out of clouds on enemy hunts.
One of the new features of Ace Combat 5 is the Wingman Command. This enables players to give commands to other planes in the squadron during group missions. To enhance the realism, it will also be possible to listen in on the radio to hear the communication from the other pilots.
The critical event that starts off Ace Combat 5 is an attack on a small island on September 23, 2010. As a fighter pilot for the superpower Osea, the gamer will be in charge of keeping the skies safe through a variety of missions.
It's about f**ing time, Ace Combat 4 was one of the best looking games on the PS2 and it's really been awhile since we've had a good console air-combat game, although I did hear somethings about Crimson Skies but I havent tried that yet because I dont have an X-BOX. I hope my PS2 will live long enough past the disc-read errors and the other crap to be able to play AC5.
