i wish it was easier to create/edit players in FOF, I'd do the Colts roster myself

It was a lot easier to make rosters using FOF4.

I'd be up for it but I'm not touching the contracts with a 10 foot clown poll.

I agree, 2004 roster was more user friendly to develop rosters.

It appears no one is going to make a roster. A sad day in the Football gaming world.

Wouldn't this be primelord's department? I think he came out with the real player roster file. Though, I'm curious as to whether or not there was supposed to be a 'd' version.

If you know him, Please contact him to see if he is going to do one. Let us all know here if there was a response. Thanks.

I tried working on the Colts roster

I worked off of the real player file that was in the reference thread. I added all the draft picks and a couple players that were on the Colts roster last year. I put in the personal information for each player (Height, weight, college, hometown etc...). I haven't touched the player attributes yet. I also put some former Colts into Free Agency (Washington, Meadows etc....) I also added 1 to experience for everyone in the league

It was a lot easier to make rosters using FOF4.

How so?

And a hush fell over the saloon. Off to the side, the barkeep huddled under his counter.

How so?

I thought using the player file editor that came with FOF4 made it a lot simpler, or "user friendly" as beatle put it. It was easier for me to go player-by-player down the list at each position. I never use a spreadsheet, so having to use it for player file editing turns out to be a big mess and a pain in the ass. Do you think it's easier using the spreadsheet?

No, I've always used my own editor, I wrote it because I didn't like the FOF4 editor.

3ric, Is your eiditor easy to use for FOF new game?

I don't know if you'd like it - since it's basically a spreadsheet app too. You open a TCY draft file for FOF2004 and modify it, you get a little help with some conversions, i.e schools, hometowns and such.

You can't create a draft file from scratch with it, unfortunately. It's just for modifying existing ones. I know nilodor has used it to create several files, and it was available for FOF4 as well, that's why I asked.

Dola - of course, if you like the FOF4 editor then you can use it to create a file from scratch, just as you used to do. Then you can open it with the FOF4 draft file editor, copy the data to Excel and add the necessary columns before creating a FOF2k4 file with it. A little clunky, but possible.

We converted the old historical draft files (which was created for FOF4) that way.
