If you don't like soccer, thats fine, but for those of us that do, I just thought I'd let people know about this if they didn't already.

You can watch any MLS game live on the internet (unless it is on ESPN). just go to MLS.com, and on the right there should be a links on the left under each game that says "video". It will take you to a general video screen, but it will let you watch any game live. this is great. Every league should do this.

You can also go to past weeks and watch all the games of the year (except ESPN games). This is ALL FREE, and one of the coolest things I've ever seen a league do.

http://www.mlsnet.com/MLS/sights/

direct link, though it may not work.

Thanks for the info. Since playing CM, I'm wanting to watch more soccer. Last night, I watched Manchester United and Portsmouth play at 3:00 AM on Fox Sports, and I'd really like to watch some MLS.

well, there's 2 games going on now, and one starts at 10.

Yeah, I only get Fox Sports South, so there isn't much soccer going on there.

I doubt any soccer fans are nearby me, but I figured I'd make the offer:

If any of you want to attend a Revs game, let me know. I have two season tickets for the Revs (from my brother), and although Iwill take various family and friends to some games, I can reserve tickets for other games if folks want

Funny thing, I just realized last weekend that my digital TV provider has a channel called TeleLatino that shows games from the Italian Championship on Sunday morning. Usually everything on that channel is in Italian, but for some reasons, the games are in English :)

Oh, and I've also been watching some of the English Premiership on Saturday mornings, on what is called CTW SportsNet. They get most of thir feeds from Fox Sport Net.

On another note, I hope MLS decides to pay Ruiz.

you can watch them live, yes (I assume there is a slight delay, but probably not much). They are also available on archive.

Thanks EM, good work.

Not really a fan of any team in particular, here, but I like San Jose (got to hope Donavon keeps improving:)), and DC (I'm going to go to a game of their's this summer sometime, and my dad lives there). But I like watching all the games.

As much as I hate the Metros, that Wolyniek guy looks promising - how old is he?

27. He's been around for a while. He's been an average player for his career and has been kind of gangly on the field.

Damn, though U.S. players tend to develop late (Beasely, Donavon, Convey being exceptions).

That guy is kind of Mathis-esque the way he scores crazy goals out of no where though.

bump just to say the following

when you open up an MLS video, the new yahoo player also has links for Italian Serie A games and some copa libertadores games. It doesn't have them all, but still cool nonetheless. I have wasted countless hours watching these games for no reason.

That he is. He also is the best striker in MLS. Penalty shots are a forward, as well as teams, best chance for a goal. Kinda like that fall for the penalty today for the Rev's.

So uh, the Minnesota Thunder shutout the L.A. Galaxy in an "Open Cup" game. Thoughts or excuses?

SirFozzie

Bunch of A-League teams beat the MLS teams in the US Open Cup (including Rochester over my beloved Revolution). In a lot of cases, the teams have played several games in the last couple weeks, so weren't rested (and I know the Revs played a virtual B team).

Good wins, but don't say that the teams could hang in MLS

Well, I didn't watch the match, so I don't know exactly how it went down. Obviously, it's a big upset. But some things to consider are that, to my understanding, the Thunder is one of the A League's best teams, that it was in Minnesota, and that the Galaxy are missing three key players (Albright and Herzog are two of them, but I forget the third, Ruiz maybe?). As I didn't watch it, I also don't know of the Galaxy started a backup team (which is completely their fault if they did, of course). And the Galaxy might have been looking ahead to their showdown with the second place Wizards on Saturday.

Regardless, that's a big upset, and the Galaxy should be ashamed of losing it.

Don't know if you saw this, but over at BS Dempsey was called (by a very highly regarded poster) "The best player in MLS right now".

And I'm inclined to agree with him. He's really just unbelievable.

Don't worry, I wouldn't. http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif I only check out the Thunder's scores and placement every once in awhile. Just thought I'd get MrBug's perspective on this one. http://dynamic2.gamespy.com/%7Efof/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Dempsey for USA National Team! :D

You're still on for the double header, right? I can get extra tickets for $20 each (Family has first claim on the 2nd ticket, but if my brother doesn't want it, you got it)..

But if anyone else wants tickets to the 9/4 double header (USA World Cup Qualifier and a Revs game), let me know, I can get em through the Midnight Riders, the Rev's main supporter group.

Yep - I'm in. $20 is fine, free is better.:D

Class ends before noon on Friday, so I'll head out soon after that, stay at my sister's apartment, then get ready for the big game on Saturday!!! Probably come home Saturday night, maybe Sunday. I have the following Monday off from school, so it doesn't really matter.

What time are the kickoffs of each game?

Galaxy didn't even start any starters, including Hartman and Ruiz was a second half substitute to try to do something, but were unable to.

I just don't see this as something anyone cares about...

shit the battery won... I should have gone last night.

And I watched Clint the past 2 years at Furman, and he played like a hot shot. He was pretty much an ass, but he had good skills on the ball. I can't say I'm completely shocked he's doing well, but I thought it would take a few years for him to mature.
