PING: Bears fans (Or anybody who may know)

Okay I missed the Draft on TV yesterday. I was in Tampa helping some family move and I listened to the Draft on the Bucs flagship station. When the Bears were on the clock, the guys on the radio were talking about how important this pick was for Lovie Smith, a former Bucs assistant. One of them related that he had talked to media types in Chicago and was told that Smith was going to have a short honeymoon because "unfortunately Chicago is still that type of town." This threw me for a loop. Has anyone else heard is this?

Dunno what was meant by "THAT type of town".

Is this a statement about Chicago's racial attitudes? I don't think that would be fair.

But is it a statement about Chicago fans being quick to criticize, quick to second-guess, ready to rip their sports teams' coaches at the drop of a hat? Yeah, I'd say that's about accurate.

I would also throw in that Lovie is on a short rope because of thier little dictator of a GM who sucks in his own right but i'm sure will do what ever he can to keep his job, of course don't listen to me much, i hate the Bears and take it so far that i have decided to teach my child that God hates the bears and that is why we do. :D
