21997 spectators had come to Bryn Mawr Backstabbers Arena this cloudy day. Backstabbers had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Kjćr - Jett, Larkin, Churchill - Mucha, Duvskär, Thörnbeck, Lee-Ming, Braswell - Abolafio Martíne, Holm.
Manlius started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Raby - Sánchez, Shearer, Cramer, Herrero - Felix, Ignat, Waalkes, Davies - Sulkowski, Starr.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Manlius. One of many good passes from Alan Felix at the wing was recieved and skillfully taken care of by Dan Starr, scoring for Manlius to 0 - 1. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Backstabbers´s Kendall Churchill got himself booked. Ignacio Abolafio Martínez made a superb strike at the goal in the 24:th minute with a long shot coming in from straight in front of the goal, but one of the visitors defenders got a foot in and warded it off to a corner. A well placed corner kick from Manfredo Herrero was followed by Alan Felix´s hard but accurate header. The nice combination meant goal for Manlius. The result now 0-2. By now Manlius were drawing the troops back in order to defend their lead. A long pass from the defense line of Manlius resulted in a counterattack that set Dominik Sulkowski free in the enemy central penalty box, but his finish went high. The teams went for a half-time break at 0 - 2. The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Backstabbers, with an impressive 79 percent possession of the ball.
Artur Mucha almost put the reducer away having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper. Manliuss Guillermo Sánchez got himself booked after a foul. Hampus Thörnbeck behaved like an inexperienced youth player in the 73rd minute as he gave the ball away to an opponent. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. In the 75:th minute Artur Mucha passed through the guests central line of defense, scoring the 1 - 2 goal. Peter Cramer suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing, when a counterattack by Manlius caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the enemy goalie prevented him from scoring. Backstabbers, bringing the final ball possession rate to 87 percent, dominated the battle.
Most important Backstabbers player was Christoffer Kjćr. Kendall Churchill on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Manlius player was without a doubt Tere Davies. However, Philip Waalkes made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
