Welp, I had given my refurbished XBOX to a buddy of mine, as I was meaning to buy a brand new one myself. (Got tired of the Thompson drive, and wanted one with a Samsung)
In any case, I still had all my games, and was considering picking up a this title. Anyone got impressions yet? I'm guessing this is a new iteration of 'Knockout Kings' or what not.

I never played knockout kings, so I can't compare it to much. But Fight Night is quality.
The actual matches are fun. Reminds me oddly of soul caliber - basically just reflex gaming. Good stuff though.
I'm frustrated with the career - the only way to substantially improve your boxer is to do well at certain training exercises. And I simply can't figure out the damn punching bag, therefore my boxers always suck at speed and power, essentially the two most important ones.
Quality rental, I got two weeks of enjoyment out of it. Questionable purchase.

i like the game myself although the training definatly took me a long time to get the hang of

Well, I picked up the game yesterday, and started up a career. I suppose my only gripe is not having the choice to choose what kind of training I can put my boxer through...
Oh, and condor? You're right about the punching bag bit. Holy cripes, I suck! In any case, one thing's definately clear: I am not good at 'bobbing and weaving', as well as 'blocking'. I guess this is a game I'm going to have to keep playing, to get into the 'rhythm' of things. I just hope my right thumb doesn't blister up.
Switch to button controls for the punching bag.
In fact, just leave your control setting on configuration 6 for both trueswing(or whatever) and button punching in one.

yeah you have to use option 6 the analog puch control sucks on xbox. I have played on xbox and ps2 and the analog works much better on the ps2
you can only use hooks on the punching bag and you have to time the punch so the bag is lined up with your shoulder on contact.

Clearly, I seem to fare well at this game...until I get knocked down.
It's probably just me, but I'm having a hard time trying to 'line up' the images of the referee together, to beat the count. Is it safe to assume out of the '3' blurry images, one of them is static?

I can't line up the images for the life of me. I thought it was just me.

Definately not the only one.
I'm tempted to practice in some 2 player mode, and just experiment and what not. From what my friends tell me - they say the images move more 'slower' the more beaten up you are.
A pity I can't get up from the first knockdown...then again, I also attribute it to my atrocious attempt at 'defense'.
