Why not?
I guess so, he knows those players won't go for cheap, except maybe a couple of his players. I can see why now.

i start out almost all of my players for $0.0..... im a firm believer in bidding wars.
Thats why i find it wierd that so many people post topics asking how much to put a player on the transfer market for.

On one hand, there is always that possiblity that a fairly skilled player with decent value might go for cheap. The possiblity is very low on the other hand.
So most likely you'll get a bidding war.

What he said. Even when i place amounts I start lower than comprable players that are listed.

there are two ways of seeing this. When I have a newly popped trainee and I wouldn't mind training him one more level, then I usually put the player on the market with a fairly overpriced starting price. However, when I only ned to get rid of a player, I'll often start him at 0.
Why $1 insteand of $0? Why not? the result is the same...

dola, from now on, I've decided that my low starting price players will now start at $99 CDN, a bargain, under a 100 :)

Despite the fact that all bids have to start at $1K? ;)
But what Havok said is right on the money. Basically, if they're good and at a low price, they'll get bookmarked by people looking for bargains which can lead to bidding wars when their time is up. If nothing else, as long as you have a player up in prime time, some daytrader will snatch them up for 80% of what they are worth.
However, there are some guys who are too good to risk that on. Usually when I'm selling my middies, I put a guy up at a higher than market value price, trying to get one or two guys to bite on him. And if that doesn't work, I'll put him up again at a slightly lower price. But those type of players, I want a decent return on and I'm not leaving it up to the chance of some daytraders and another guy getting in a bidding war.

hehe, I know that, my $99 was just for fun, and didn't matter more than starting them at $0, or $1 for that matter :)

That's what I was talking about when I mentionned players I don't want to see go for under market value. That and the fact that we've all learned not to trust the Hattrick server at all...
