I posted on here about needing beta testers for this program a while back, and thanks to AE and TK it looks like I have all the bugs worked out. So Im ready to release it to anyone that would like to use it.
Basically how the program works is after every match you cut and paste the xml output from your game into it and save the information. (Thanks to no love from the chpp, you have to do this manually. I was unable to get certification to access their site via the application.)
Then, you can build a stats table for league goals, cup goals, friendy goals, competitve yellow cards and competitve red cards that is formatted to easily be cut and paste into your ht-arena.com pages.
Here are some examples of my own stats pages built with the program...
http://www.ht-arena.com/stlsaints/?page=StatsAll
http://www.ht-arena.com/stlsaints/?page=Stats22
http://www.ht-arena.com/stlsaints/?page=Stats21
The requirements for this program to run on your machine are that you must have the .NET Framework installed (about a 20-30 meg download) and the newest MDAC files (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6c050fe3-c795-4b7d-b037-185d0506396c&DisplayLang=en)
The program can be downloaded from my own site, but so that I have an idea of who is using it so I can notify them about any updates, please PM me for the link.
The program does take some manual steps too keep everything up to date. So its not something you will probably want to use unless you are really into stats and a sad hattrick addict like myself.
Thanks
Saintjo
Thanks for the compliment, but I don't feel like I did a whole lot for you. Give the praise to TK. Thanks for your hard work, though, saintjo.

I'd just like to put in here that saintjo's program is AWESOME.
Granted, like AE, I feel like I just used it, by the time I got it, it seemed as though most if not all of the bugs were worked out. Mega credit to saintjo for putting it together.
And yes, FFF, we're all addicts. :)

well thanks FFF, AE, and TK. i appreciate all the kind words :)
im still bitter that chpp wont let me access the xml directly and make the program a ton easier to use. but oh well, i tried. i just think the program can be a bit akward to use if someone isnt real familar with cut and paste and url addresses and stuff.

I can't seem to download the latest MDAC file from microsoft. For some reason, the download link doesn't work. But eh, what else can you expect from microsoft ?
Will try again later.

The link I provided doesnt work or the link on their site doesnt work? If its my link, you can also go to www.microsoft.com and then do a search on their site in the top right hand corner for "MDAC". The search results come back with a few ways to get it from their site.

No, it's the microsoft link proper which doesn't work.

Well, finally managed to download MDAC from the microsoft website...
And oh boy, how I wish I hadn't !!!
When restarting after the install, I 'm having major problems ! lost internet, lost access to most files, they're still there but double clicking on them does nothing... basically my desktop right now is a not-so-nice piece of decoration...
I'm using my laptop to post this, and trying everything I know to get things back to normal on the other pc.

sorry I saw this so late. This happened to me after I tried to install .net (can't remember why). Had to wipe and reinstall Windows and everything. Fortunately I could still backup to an external HD so I didn't lose anything, but what a waste of time.
I could start Windows, but it was ssss-llll-ooooo-wwwww. Took three days to get all the files transferred, but at least I didn't lose any data.
No idea why this happens, but it could be my Windows SE version.

OK, not as bad as I first thought...
Managed to get everything back to normal by booting on disk (i was lucky to still have one around, haven't used one of those for ages !).
The stoopid f*ckin' microsoft program had somehow messed up my register... I managed to restore to a previous version and voila...
Had me sweating for 2 whole hours though...
And the good news is, your app works ! Now I can try and download matches to try and use it....
Ok, I'll pass then. Besides, I was going to make site, but some of theose would put me to shame, BADLY.

Yikes, I'm glad I've never had problems like that installing MDAC before.
It's not always Microsoft's fault... I remember one time, I installed a third party application, and then Visual Studio started acting up. I called Microsoft for support, and it turned out the third party application had screwed up some security settings on registry keys.

i just notice that you said the .NET Framework messed up your registry. thats odd since one of the biggest things with .NET is that it no longer requires registry entries for applications to run. i wonder what they are writing to it?
i have the .NET framework on 3 of my own machines and MDAC 2.6 on them. i dont have MDAC 2.8 so maybe thats the problem? i wrote some software for a baseball game a year or so ago and distributed it to like 20-40 people. not one ever mentioned having any problems.
im sorry if things are going bad for you. i honestly did not know it was a possibility :(

Relax, saintjo. Like I said, I fixed everything, lost maybe a couple of hours trying to fix it. Probably much less than you spent writing your application.
With hindsight, I think there might have been a conflict with Norton Anti-virus, it's the first program that started acting strange...
FWIW, I don't think it was the .net framework that crashed, cause I already had it installed. I had MDAC v2.5 however and therefore needed to upgrade. Who knows, maybe it had nothing to do with this. Remember yesterday, I already had trouble downloading the MDAC upgrade...
Anyway, plus de peur que de mal, as we say in French. Roughly translates to I was more scared than hurt...

Saintjo, I 'm having a bug on one specific game. It gives me a syntax error (operator missing) and then a bunch of googledibook (sp?)...
If you can have a look at it to see what the problem, I would be most grateful. Here's the link to the xml output :
hxxp://www6.hattrick.org/common/matchDetails.asp?matchID=17391238&OutputType=XML (http://www6.hattrick.org/common/matchDetails.asp?matchID=17391238&OutputType=XML)
Also, one suggestion for improvement, if you can make it. When you switch from one table back to the 'add match' tab, the contents of the previous window remains. You have to manually delete it before inputing new match data...
Otherwise, the app rocks ! It's actually fairly easy to enter the matches, even manually. Once you get the hang of it, it flows smoothly... ctrl C right click ctrl V enter ctrl A ctrl C ctrl V enter ...

great suggestion on the improvement to empty the text box when switching tabs. ill add that and have a new version out later today.
im looking into the googledibook :) and ill try to have it fixed as well. do you know if it added the match though even with the errors? you can look under view matches under settings.

Yes, the game's on there. Don't know if the data for it is good though...

oh i see the problem. its because that game had pentalty kicks to decide the winner. the game shows the score as 4-2 but there are only 2 listed goals. i have an easy fix for it though. ill do a build here in the next hour with the fix and the suggestion and send you a PM.
also, fyi, your data is corrupt for that game. go to settings and delete the match id 17391238. otherwise it will still complain when you try to add the match again with my update.

From HT :
20-05-2004 Manually editing links
It seems that the latest reminder regarding cheating and following the rules was not enough to make people actually read the rules. The rules of Hattrick is really simple. One of the rules is that you are NOT ALLOWED to ...try to fetch information that is not available as links on the site, or posting data in the same way. If this rule is not clear enough, it means that you are not allowed to manually edit links to try and access information that you are not meant to be able to access. As stated in the rules, this might lead to disqualification from Hattrick.
Do you guys think this applies to the stats maker ?
