a good friend of mine in high school (the best man at my upcoming wedding in October, actually) suggested the cow pooping fundraiser for our high school latin class, trying to raise money to fund our summer trip to Italy. His idea got vetoed, but, apparently, great minds think alike.

I had a guy named "Smith" actually on my first ship from SW Missouri. He went UA (unauthorized absence, or AWOL) for about 10 days. He went home to see his family, despite being told he couldn't.

He got in trouble when he came back, and I couldn't resist talking to him.

"Smith, seriously. Your sister wasn't going to divorce you. You didn't have to go home and make sure."
