Been meaning to ask for a clarification.
When the game narrative says:
"The fortyfive minutes were dominated by Maulers, with an impressive 66 percent possession of the ball."
And ends with:
"Maulers held the ball, with a clear 77 percent possession rate."
Does that mean 66% in the first half and 77% in the second, or does the second number refer to the cumulative for the game? I've always thought it was each half separately, but wanted to make sure.
It's my assumption that it was each half separately.

Of course, when it says this : "Fantastic held the ball, with a clear 88 percent possession rate", it just means that AE is taking a beating !

I'm nearly 100% positive that it's separate halves - IIRC I had a combination that would have been impossible early on... something like 90% at half and 96% at second.

Hey, this makes a whole lot of sense. I've had plenty of impossible combination in my games, for example:
first half message:
The teams went for a half-time break at 4 - 0. CDFC held the ball, with a clear 76 percent possession rate.
second half message:
The fortyfive minutes were dominated by CDFC, with an impressive 90 percent possession of the ball.
Even if I had had 100% in the second half, best I would have had for the game would have been 83%. Also, note the wording "The fortifive minutes were dominated...", indicating that the possession refers to the last 45 minutes of play...
