DO most people train Stamina the last week of the regular season (since training is after the final league matches) and then the 2 weeks before the next season starts?

Most people don't like training stamina two weeks in a row...and also, most only train stamina when there is only one game per week. The reason for doing so is that a player doesn't need to play to receive the benefits of training stamina (same with Set Pieces).
EDIT - So usually teams will train one week of Stamina and one week of Set Pieces in the two weeks of the 'offseason.'

Not the last week of the regular season, the week after the season is over since you only one game per week that season and players don't need to play to get trained in stamina. So 2 weeks after regular season is over for most, just 1 for people with Qualification Game. Generally speaking, at least.

hmmm ok, I knew that about stamina but didn't know that about set pieces so I'll prob do 1 of each in the off season, thanks!

Whats wrong with training stamina for more then one week in a row? My team is in desperate need of stamina and I was planning on training stam for the final 2 weeks of the season and 2 weeks of the off season to get every one to excellent or better.

Could be a good idea, but the hit it gives your whole team on form is pretty hard with two consecutive weeks. Combine that with someone going on a negative form swing, and you could be looking at crappy form for the first quarter of the season.

Because training stamina messes up form. Consecutive weeks of training stamina could destroy your team's form. Badly.
I would make an exception for new teams, though. New teams shouldn't really care about their standing yet and getting on should be the first thing. In my opinion, getting higher stamina is a big part of getting a good foundation.

Having trained stamina for my first three weeks in Hattrick and again for the two weeks after the season ended, I can testify that two weeks of stamina training puts your team's form in the dumper for the following two weeks. Double digit drops in each of the two weeks following the stamina training. It does bounce back nicely.
However, it was very much worth it to me to have all my players at Solid or Excellent stamina. I've gotten a lot of late goals, and dominated second half possession, because of stamina.

OldGiants- How fast did your players react to stamina training. meaning, did you have guys pop every week over the course of your stam training. I have about 6 guys in my team with weak or inad stamina(17 or 18yrs old) and need to raise them. how fast can i expect a boost

Most players--the younger the better--pop each week. Older ones might not pop every week. I had one player aged 28 (last season) and 29 this one, who stuck on Inadequate for three weeks. So I had to sell him.
But in general, you should expect a pop every week. The 17&18's should pop every week, or at least 4 out of 5 weeks, if you go that long.

As to the benefits of stamina, see my FOFC cup match tonight where Maulers knocked in 2 goals in the last four minutes to win.
The randomly assigned scorer was my YP, Shane Rains, who has Weak stamina himself. But the scoring should boost his price, I think, given the bidding action on him already.

I don't want to train too much as it will take away from my PM training BUT, if my other 2 trainees pop this week or next then I might do more than 1 week of stamina training. The only reason I don't want to train SP for a week is that it basically only helps one guy whereas stamina helps the whole team.

Set piece trains everybody as well.

I know but it really only helps one guy, the player you set for set pieces. That stat is worthless for everyone else while higher stamina helps everyone on the pitch.

I would also prefer to have decent set piecers all over the field during a cup run (which, for me, is about 5-7 rounds in a good year) in the event a shootout occurs.

And a Solid+ setpiece skill would be attractive to many buyers who are looking to upgrade as a bonus skill.

Chubby,
As you are a newer team, I would train stamina in both weeks of the offseason. It probably affected my team's form, however everyone in your series is in the same situation as yours is.
This past year since I had players that had adequate skills and only needed a shot of stamina I trained Stamina one week and Set Pieces the other. Stamina training had about 1/2 the team bump and Set pieces caused 15/25 players to bump a level.
YMMV, as always.

other than training stamina and setpieces in the 2 weeks after the regular season, would training passing have any use?

Training passing obviously have uses, since it adds to your offenses. I don't know that it's an efficient enough money-maker to be worthwhile as a long-term training program but it can be useful to extend the value for some players. As an option for the 2 weeks after season, I hadn't thought of that approach before but it certainly is something worth considering if all your trainees have sufficient stamina.
